How can we create a Sales Order for an item that has to be pulled from multiple bin locations without adding one line per item's bin location?

For example, we have an order for 100PCS of item#SAMPLE whose bin locations and their quantities are-

BinA: 50PCS

BinB: 50PCS

BinC: 50PCS.

Without creating a SALES ORDER with each line being a different bin, how do you list to pull from BinA & BinB to fulfill the 100-PC order? In other words, how do you create a SALES ORDER, with multiple bins listed, for item#SAMPLE on one line only?

Hello there, bhi.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Let's get this sorted out.

The option to create a Sales Order with multiple bin location is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop. It only allows you to choose one bin location per line item. If you wish to have this feature included on our next update, I encourage you to send this product suggestion through feedback.

Here's how:

  1. Choose the Help menu.
  2. Click Send Feedback Online.
  3. Select Product Suggestion.
  4. Enter your feature request.
  5. Click Send Feedback.

All request will be reviewed by our developers. We're open for more suggestions from you. Keep in touch if you need help with something else.

What about the invoices? Is there a way for the invoice to combine the total of each bin so the item is on one line?

Hi there, bhi.

Allow me to share what I know about combining totals for each bin in invoices.

Right now, you may need to enter each Bin separately in QuickBooks Desktop. Combining the totals on only one line is still unavailable at this time.

I want our product developers to know about what product features work best for your business. That said, I encourage you to submit your suggestions by following these steps:

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.

Be sure to keep in touch with me here should you have any additional questions or concerns. I'm here to help.
