How do I completely remove all files for Quickbooks Accountant 2021 and Enterprise 2021 and all their little files

My QBWC is not functioning after upgrading to 2021ENT (I upgrade a 10months to a year behind a roll out to get the bugs worked out... should have stayed in 2020)....  I do not want to spend another day and more hours with CustSupport.  So I want to SCRUB EVERYTHING off my computer related to 2021 and start fresh.   How do you remove all related files, libraries and log files.

I also want to achieve not having to answer the Windows Control question 'do you want this program to make changes to your files?' every step of the way from starting QB to also being in the program at random times.   ~ Ann

(the time suck almost warrants a new computer prior to busy season, not that's it already here!)

How do I completely remove all files for Quickbooks Accountant 2021 and Enterprise 2021 and all their little files

I'm glad to lend a hand, @1anngm.

The default QuickBooks file location is on C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files. You can also press F2 on your keyboard to see it.

Here's how it looks like.

After finding the file location, you can continue with deleting the file. Here's how:

  1. Go to the folder location (C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files) and choose the View menu.
  2. Hover towards Options and then tap Change folder and search options.
  3. Select View and then uncheck Hide extensions for known files.
  4. Click Apply and then OK.
  5. This will show the QuickBooks extension file type, so you'll be able to trace your file and delete it.

Here are some additional resources that'll help you in creating a new company file.

How do I completely remove all files for Quickbooks Accountant 2021 and Enterprise 2021 and all their little files

thank you but, I want to remove only the QB ENT 21 software and all traces of QBWebconnector, and then start fresh.  My company data file is fine, I have removed the *.QBW from it.   My problem is the web connector works 20% of the time and it's a QB issue not the webconnector 3rd party.   (I use QB16, QB18, QB19 and 21 for clients along with QB-ENT21.  I almost feel like I need to have the QB-ENT-21 on it's own laptop so the QWC always works.  I have this issue every time I upgrade the ENT version, which I will not do again for a few years.

Thanks for keeping us updated, @1anngm.

I've got some insights to share about deleting data in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you need to edit or create a new company file, you can import and export your data to transfer information to and from QuickBooks rather than beginning from scratch. To verify that QuickBooks can handle the transaction, you must first identify the transaction type and file format.

You may learn more about import/export in QuickBooks Desktop by reading the following articles, which provide thorough instructions and information:

However, if you'd only like to delete the invoices data, follow these steps:

  1. From the top menu, click on Customers.
  2. Hit Customer Center.
  3. Select Transactions.
  4. Click on Invoices.
  5. Access all the invoice transactions one at a time, and hit Delete
  6. Click on OK on the pop-up window once you delete the invoice.

On the other hand, removing and reloading the web connector file is a good way to diagnose and fix any errors that occur while exporting invoices.

  1. Access QuickBooks Desktop and click on Edit Preferences.
  2. Choose Integrated Applications from the options on the left.
  3. Click the MSP Manager service and click Remove.

I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team if you require additional assistance with the processes. They also have the ability to access your account in a secure environment and conduct a remote session.

Here's how to reach support:

  1. Open this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Choose the version of QuickBooks, click Contact Us.
  3. Enter Type-in Technical Support on the search bar.
  4. And hit Get the Phone number below.

I'm always ready to back you up. Don't hesitate to leave a reply to this thread. Take the best care!

How do I completely remove all files for Quickbooks Accountant 2021 and Enterprise 2021 and all their little files

Just an update,  I went through all the Solution #2 steps, https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/product-delivery/clean-install-quickb...

I used the MSTask Menu (Ctrl Atl-Del) to find all files still running (WebConnector traces).  I appended every file and folder that appeared to be related to QB2021 with 'OLD'.  Rebooted several times to double check.   Then shut down.  Reinstalled QBdesk 2021 and QB ENT 2021 (Never could find the 'clean' install directions...   But currently my Data file and the WebConnector are behaving and MS is not asking me every few turns if it is "OK' to run the program since files might change...   UGH  way too many hrs with Intuit Support, note I did not have time to 'chat in' yesterday to wait to attempt to reach a high level Tech Support peep.  the Community Support works well.      Until later - Happy Jan 2022!!   ~ Ann
