Hello, @How do I go back to the old invo! We appreciate your participation in the Community thread and thank you for sharing your queries and sentiments regarding the new invoice layout. We would be happy to provide you with further information and assist you in resolving any related concerns.
A new user interface has been created from the ground up and has been made available to users since June. It includes new features and increased availability. Starting from October 16, 2023, Simple Start and Essentials users will be migrated automatically to the new invoice experience and will not be able to opt-out.
It indicates that it's not possible to return to the previous invoice layout. However, users with QuickBooks Online Plus, or Advanced versions can switch back to the old invoice layout by selecting the Old layout from the invoice screen. It's important to note that this change won't result in the loss of any existing invoices.

This is incorrect information. I'm currently subscribed at the Essentials level and no button to use the old layout exists anymore (it was there before the 13th)
Is there any plan that does allow use of the old layout? Removing the ability to use the up/down arrow keys to scroll through lines on an invoice seems a ridiculously stupid downgrade - and you don't need to tell me I can tab between lines, I realize that but it's far less efficient than using arrow keys and much harder on the hands when working with many invoices with many products a day.
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, HCD LLC. I appreciate your detailed information.
As of December 11, 2023, users subscribed to an Essentials plan were migrated to the new invoice experience. I can certainly understand how an ability to switch back to your previous layout could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

So the previous reply was in fact incorrect, or is there a plan that does allow use of the old layout?
Hi there, HCD LLC. Let me chime in and add some additional information about this matter.
Updates are frequently released regarding the previous invoice layout in QuickBooks. As my colleague mentioned above, Simple Start and Essential users can no longer switch from the new experience to the old layout since December 11, 2023. However, if you have a Plus or Advanced subscription, you can still choose to switch and use the old invoice layout for the time being, until further notice.
Moreover, you can check what's in the new invoices in QuickBooks Online, so you're guided on its features and what to do with it.
You can also customize the appearance of your invoices and other sales forms with the new layout to make it personalized.

"However, users with QuickBooks Essentials, Plus, or Advanced versions can switch back to the old invoice layout by selecting the Old layout from the invoice screen."
The original answer states Essentials does have that option, and the following reply by ZackE does not say one way or the other about switching back to the old layout under that plan. You can understand why the initial reply by LollyNino_C with seemingly incorrect information is confusing, and subsequent replies by Intuit team members would be suspect. I'm not willing to upgrade to a different plan at a higher rate when the info provided here by Intuit employees contradicts each other, not helped by the addition of "for the time being, until further notice" in your reply, which sounds like the forced switch which is lacking needed features is inevitable.
