How do i remove or hide the new Discovery Hub from my menu bar for Quickbooks Premier Retail Desktop edition 2021?

Well, I can't get anything to attach, so I must be doing it wrong. Anyway off in the right hand corner by the reminders and the x to close, up on the top menu bar, sits a button labeled  Discovery Hub. Inevitably I will click it instead of Reminders and I haven't seen a way to remove it from the bar or hide it or what ever. Please come up with a way to hide it and let me or us if any others want to know, how to take care of it.

In this particular situation, I recommend sending a message to the product engineers to let them know you'd like to have the option to remove or relocate the Discovery Hub.

Here's how to get your feedback submitted:

1. Go to the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
2. Click Product Suggestion.
3. Choose a feedback type and product area on the QuickBooks Feedback window. 
4. Enter your suggestion or feedback, name, and email address (optional).
5. Select the Send Feedback Online.

Received an email from QB: Did you get the answer you need?  No not yet as nothing has been corrected, changed, reformatted, etc. so I am not ready to close this issue until I hear back from any of the powers that be regarding fixing this change. Just thought I would let you know.

This is super annoying in an application I've paid for! Please give us the option to turn off completely Discovery Hub or these annoying attempts at trying to sell us more!

We begin to roll out the new changes and update to our QuickBooks Desktop product. The new way to explore the best of what we offer is by opening the Discovery hub via an icon in the top menu bar.

The option to hide or remove it entirely from the software is currently unavailable. I recommend that you submit a product suggestion to our product engineer, as suggested by my colleague MorganB. They'll go through your request and, if it's approved, they may eliminate or add the ability to hide it in a future update.

Ok is there any way to turn off the little drop down window that blocks part of the screen? Maybe have a notification like the reminders button.

I also dislike the way Hub gets in my face.  I do not want it on my desktop.  I do not want the pop-up sales ads either.  It is very distracting when you are working with someone else's money and you are interupted and have to stop what you are doing to get rid of an ad in a program that you payed a great deal of money for.  I don't want computer commercials while I am working.

Hi Its been a bit since we started asking for the option to remove or hide the "Discovery Hub", I open QuickBooks there it is trying to sell me a different version of the QuickBooks. Enterprise edition I think.

Can we have a status update regarding the timeline on what will be an easy and quick removal of code on the menu bar that is the "Discovery Hub" that has not come about yet.

I can see the urgency of getting this issue resolved in a timely manner. At this time, I’m unable to provide a definite time frame when this will be resolved.

Rest assured, we’re working towards finding a permanent solution. This is to ensure customers can use QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) smoothly.

I don't understand what's so hard about having discovery hub notify us like the reminders area. The way it's set up now it feels like free software that I paid for. I don't want want to be nagged/solicited everytime I open the software. I guarantee you there are 1000's more out there that feel the same!

I feel the same as you. I found this string trying to find a way to turn it off. In the past, QB would show you something new (either free or for sale) and you could essentially say, "I'm not interested" and you wouldn't see it again. Now, you can't do that, something pops up and you can only say your aren't interested, "for now" then it comes back again in the future.

We're running business on paid software and we are busy. It's disrespectful of Intuit not to value our time. Sometimes you can be very focused on an important task, let's say preparing for a workers comp audit, you open QB and you have to read and figure out how to close a sales pitch that you have no interest in seeing. This really can disrupt your train of thought. 

If you want to sell something, do it through email and let us opt in or out. Show new features one time only after a major upgrade and then not again.

Please get this fixed - remove the DISCOVERY HUB!!!!!.  It is extremely annoying and a theft of time and productivity, since there is no way to turn these stupid ads off.  I have no interest in ever purchasing anything thrown at me inside software that I purchased a license for.  Every time the DISCOVERY HUB flashes an obstruction to my productivity, my only option is to completely exit QBooks and restart.  I will NEVER allow one of these ads to occupy any corner of my attention span.  TURN IT OFF!!!!!  

Echoing what everyone else in this thread is saying...provide a way to turn this feature off. It should be a user &/or company preference. I, like everyone else, found this very obtrusive and annoying so I searched for how to turn it off only to find it's not possible. Does anyone really believe leaving feedback will really accomplish anything?

So one month later and still have the Discovery Hub. This popped up while opening Company tab. This should be buried in the tabs like it used to be. Please, please fix this. I agree with the others, we pay too much to put up with popups.  This is not a game that it is acceptible to show ads. It is a paid program and not acceptible for pop ups in a paid program.

For now, you can use the Feedback feature to send the idea of removing the tab to our engineering team. This way, they could take action to help improve your experience. Rest assured they're working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences to all QuickBooks users. 

Here's how you can send feedback through QuickBooks:

1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) file.
2. Go to the Help menu, then Send Feedback Online.
3. Tap on Product Suggestion.
4. Enter your feedback or suggestions.
5. Hit the Send Feedback button.

Your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development Team to help improve your QuickBooks experience.

Please know that QuickBooks always considers product suggestions based on the number of requests. The more users want this feature, the big chances it'll be part of future enhancements.

So i sent the feedback,,, again,,,. Really wished this was easily closed and taken off as in the customizable task menu below it. I have used Quickbooks since 2000 and this is the fourth time you have really irked me with the changes or lack of changes to improve this program.And all 4 times have not been addressed, changed, improved or in this case moved/removed and they all have to do with simple changes to improve everyday use items.

Today I decided to remind Quickbooks that the "Discovery Hub" is still irritating customers. Here is my latest screen shot today. And just to answer this thought ... Will it go away if i just continue to another page or finish my General Journal??  NO, it stays hovering over each page until you physically click something on it.  Please, you send this to the feedback address and developers because they are not listening to us. I am exhaused with the lack of response, and I don't mean to this post, I mean lack of response in fixing the bugs that have been caused by unwanted or unneeded changes. I really hate to change my accounting program after 22 years of using Quickbooks but I do want you to know.. when my payroll subscription (the only thing keeping me here right now) runs out.. maybe I'll be back, maybe not,  It depends on your developers.Heres a thought, maybe you need to fire the one with Discovery Hub unbrilliant idea? Would that help get things fixed? Incentive is a wonderful thing.

That's the screenshot that the Dev's need to see. You get that pop up about delegating tasks. If you don't have any interest in that feature (I don't), you can't say, "no" only, "maybe later."

That has to be the dumbest thing I've seen in nearly 20 years with this product. Not every feature or add-on is applicable to every customer. Some features will NEVER be applicable to a specific customer yet you are going to nag them over and over about something that they don't want to use? It's ridiculous. This is not free software, we pay to use it.  

Well I received an update a couple of days ago. I figured the nagging/solicitation/interrupting me while I'm trying to work would have stopped but it didn't. Do you have any timeline on when this will be resolved? I keep getting emails to update my software but I see no reason to if this nagging is going to continue!
