Join nowI currently have QB Desktop. I would like the other attorney in my office to be able to bill and invoice from his computer. What do I need to do to make this happen?
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
How many user license?
Can you access CAMPS and find your license code there?
Thanks for posting your concern here in the Community, @LawDog1. Let me help you with setting up a multi-user so you can give the attorney in your office access to be able to bills and invoices from his computer.
Firstly, begin by setting up your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). If you haven't done this yet, please refer to Step 1 of this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop on a server.
Next, ensure that QuickBooks Database Server Manager is installed on the computer hosting your company files (server computer). Then, use it to scan the folder containing your files. Once verified, configure folder permissions on your server computer to grant permission to be on your network. Afterwards, adjust your Firewall and Internet security settings to allow QBDT and Database Server Manager to run on your network.
Proceed to set up the admin rights to ensure you can sign in to your server computer using your account. After completing the setup outside of QBDT, the next step is to enable Multi-user Access on your server computer:
Alternatively, you can install QB in a cloud server, allowing the attorney to access QB from anywhere as long as they're connected to the internet. Here are some articles for additional details:
Please feel free to ask any further questions about the multi-user network in QBDT by clicking the Reply button. Have a great day ahead!
