I've been trying to get a user to capture receipt images using the Quickbooks app for iPhone. Using my experience with the iPhone app, I have described what she needs to do. She didn't understand me and got frustrated and wouldn't use it.
Finally, when she got back to the office I looked at her phone. Her interface of the Quickbooks app is completely different from mine. We have the exact same versions, but her dashboard display is completely different. The Snap receipt button was completely buried several clicks down, and what she found first was the Expenses function and was trying to work with that. (No wonder she was getting confused by my descriptions!)
I see no settings for customizing the iPhone app dashboard display. Yet somehow ours were made to display differently. How is that done? I would like for hers to look at least more like mine, if not featuring the Snap receipt function which is all she will ever use.
How can we do that?

@Rose-AThank you for your response. I did find the solution.
I was confused by your suggestion to free up storage. The user's device did not have a storage issue. That was irrelevant.
You then suggested deleting and reinstalling the app. That didn't seem relevant, either, as I had raised an interface question. But it's all that we had left to try so we did.
It wasn't the reinstallation itself that fixed anything. What we learned is that Quickbooks has placed certain interface settings solely within the installation process. (It would have helped if you had said that it would, if you had known.) The user is asked what things she wants to do with Quickbooks most. By choosing "Organize Receipts & Expenses" Quickbooks then installed the shortcut buttons that had previously been missing.
I question the wisdom of having an interface setting only available on installation and unavailable to be changed later in the app. But unfortunately I'm getting used to that kind of programming choice from Quickbooks.
A warm welcome to the Community, jeffbean.
To ensure the user has the same interface as yours, we can do a few troubleshooting steps to fix this. This will help us keep the application compatible with their device
For iOS:
For Android:
Once refreshed, restart your mobile phone, go back to your dashboard and access the Snap receipt from there. If you get the same result, uninstall, then reinstall the QuickBooks Online mobile app and make sure they select the same setup as yours.
Additionally, you can visit this write-up: Compare mobile app features. It provides you more information on what options you can access on the customers' and vendors' side as well as a chart to easily compare feature availability on supported devices.
If I can be of any more assistance, please feel free to comment again. I will be here to help. Take care, and enjoy the rest of your day.

There should be an accessible edit shortcuts option. I heard from customer support today that quickbooks is no longer supporting the mobile app. I find this concerning.
