How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

Constantly getting error message "something went wrong. Please try again" when trying to export Payroll core to QB Online. All fields for Payroll export preferences are complete. Also why was a new company added just for payroll forced conversion from IOP to Core. Why didn't Intuit just add Payroll to my company?

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

Hi there, cguerriero01.

Our software engineers are currently conducting an investigation about the error when exporting paychecks to QBO account via Export link in the stand-alone Core Payroll. Rest assured, we're doing our best to get this resolved as soon as possible.

For now, I recommend giving us a quick call or chat to add your contact information to our notification list. You can also provide this investigation number for a faster transaction: INV-53064.

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Select Talk to a human.
  3. Enter "Talk to a human" again in the search bar.
  4. Choose I still need a human, then click Contact us.
  5. Select Get a callback or Send a message to start a conversation.

In the meantime, you'll want to consider creating journal entries for the payroll you've run for the week.

Additionally, please take note that Payroll Core is bundled with QuickBooks Online. Since you've migrated to Core Payroll, you'll automatically get a new QuickBooks Online account.

Since you've just migrated from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online, I encourage reading this article to be guided in setting up your business:

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

Hello there, @cguerriero01.

I can see that this needs to be verified with one of our live agents. I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Care team to know more about the updates about the export error. They have the tools to help you get to the bottom of this.

Also, if you've already contacted them before about this investigation, you'll receive an email if there's already a fix.

As a workaround, you can create a Journal Entry to manually assign funds to specific accounts. I'd recommend doing this with your accountant to avoid messing up your books.

I've added this article for more details about the accounts you'll need to create to track your payment totals: Manually enter payroll paychecks in QuickBooks Online.

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

Hello marsstephaniel, this is a real problem going on 3 weeks now and caused by a forced conversion from IOP to Payroll Core. When will INV-53064 be resolved?

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

I can see the importance of being able to import your payroll data from Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll Core, @cguerriero01. That's why I'm here to share further details about this.

We're unable to provide a specific date as to when will the INV-53064 be resolved. However, I can assure you that our product engineers are actively working to have a permanent fix as soon as possible.

Once the issue is resolved, you can refer to this article for the step-by-step instructions on how to export to QBO and what to do each time you run payroll: Setup export of IOP data to QBO. It also includes details about the things you need to know after your data is entered into QuickBooks.

In the meantime, I'm also adding this article to help you get started in QBO: QuickBooks Basics. It provides topics on how to effectively manage your income, expenses, banking, payroll, and taxes to name a few. You can also click the  + More topics button at the bottom of the page to expand the sections.

Please know that I'm just around if you have other payroll concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success, @cguerriero01. Take care always.

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

This is STILL an issue in 2022!!  Come on QBs, fix this error!!  I have spent over 40 hours with "help" which isn't helpful.  I have been advised everything from changing to Gusto and then transfering everything to Payroll in my QBO - which is what I wanted in the first place, but was told IOP was a standalone, so QB had to migrate to a standalone......that isn't working.  Everything about this move from IOP to QBO Payroll has been a nightmare.  I have had 4 payrolls since February 1st 2022 with errors or problems.  Every single payroll has a problem.  Today is payroll and I haven't been able to export....again AND now all of a sudden my Maryland Unemployment Taxes now are Manual - after being fine for the last 2 payrolls??  I spent another 3 hours yesterday with "help" that isn't helpful, and nothing is resolved. I was finally advised just to open a new payroll account inside my QBO and just enter all the information from the standalone system manually for the 1st quarter payroll of 2022.  Honestly QBs, I don't have time to spend another 40 hours getting no assistance on these constant and reappearing issues.  Who exactly is this mystery department that is working on resolutions for 2 years to know issues??? I am extremely unhappy, and angry.  IOP worked fine for 8+ years, forced move to QB Payroll has been a fiasco, and even "help" has admitted this multiple times.  I'm moving from dissatisfied customer to hating QBs period!!

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

I am currently experiencing this issue and have spent many hours with QBO support.  I was told that entering the company EIN in the QBO accounting file caused this corruption and that I can no longer export from QBO stand alone payroll into the QBO accounting file.  Has a fix for this been identified yet?  This limitation is enough for me to encourage my client to choose a different payroll and accounting option.

I understand how time-consuming it is when something isn’t working the way you need it. Please know that encountering these issues isn't the kind of service I want you to experience, @meagancpa.

For now, we can enter historical payroll information for the current calendar year. However, entering prior payroll data can only be done if no paycheck has been run yet.

You can follow these steps for the complete instructions.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Payroll menu.
  3. Within the Employee tab, select the employee to open the information. Under How much did you pay [employee] this year? select +Enter [year] prior pay details.
  4. Enter the necessary information.

You can read through this article for additional information: Add pay history to QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Comment below if you have any other concerns or additional questions about QuickBooks payroll. I'm always here to help. Take care and have a good one.

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

It's now 2024 and I am having this issue more and worse than ever.  I have spent more hours than I can count just in the last month with unacceptable results.  The export somewhat worked with workarounds until recently.  This transition was poorly executed and  continues to be so.

How to fix Payroll core import to QB online constant error after forced conversion from IOP?

I have spent countless hours with various different support representatives.  I know how it is supposed to work, but it doesn't.  I am supposed to be contacted by support and it never happens.  Very unhappy with intuit right now.
