How can I get rid of PPP banner on home page that just showed up yesterday?
Hey there, JBarchart. You've come to the right place, the Community is here to help.
The Paycheck Protection Program banner you're seeing is to help businesses who may want to submit an application to potentially receive relief funds for their operations. If it's displaying in the form of a pop-up window when you open your homepage, you could try disabling these types of notifications in your preferences. I'll show you how:
1. In the menu bar at the top, go to Edit, then Preferences.2. A window will display with a scrolling navigation bar on the left side. Choose General from the list of options.
3. Open the My Preferences tab and select the Turn off pop-up messages for products and services box.4. Hit OK to complete your changes.
Now unwanted windows won't display when you open your books.

I'm trying to get rid of the banner also. It's not a pop up it's part of the home window. If I was interested in the ppp program I'm sure I can find information. I don't need it to be a permanent part of my program.
Hi there, @exhaustguy.
The option to remove the PPP banner on the Home Screen is unavailable for now. This new delivery system is intended to deliver important information and will allow Intuit to focus our messaging to specific groups of customers.
Currently, this will display information for the following customer groups:

Exactly how long are we going to be subjected to forced advertising? I can't believe that I pay over $700 a year so that you can determine what I should be subjected to against my will. Isn't it bad enough the amount of glitches and problems your program has already?!? Apparently not. Now we are forced to see something your company deems necessary just because you want the 5% kickback for sponsoring the loan! Enough is enough!
Can you recommend an accounting program that does not put distracting banner ads on their home window? I pay good money for this program and I think customers deserve better.

This would only be as known by Intuit, which was not the provider to me. The ad is not applicable, as I already have a loan and can't get another one, so please remove it from my home page. The pop up ad preference does not remove it nor does closing the ad, as that just closes the whole home page. How else can this be removed asap?
I can't believe they've left this banner up on PPP. Ok 1 day or so fine.
That is prime real-estate on the QB screen. Unbelievable !
I guess they don't listen to their customers. Aren't customers the KING anymore ?
Bruce B.
Look closely at the top left corner of the banner. There is a small rectangle there. Left click on it and the close option will appear.
That closes the home window but does not remove the ad
This really sucks....
There is no reason to display this banner on a product I already pay licensing fees on. in addition, it is causing a script error every time i log on to QB. This error did not happen prior to the banner being displayed. Screen shots are attached.
I'm now seeing a banner that reads: "Discover seasonal hiring tips" with a big blue button that says Learn more. First, we are not a seasonal employer so this is irrelevant. Second, this is not an ad that can be turned off. I have the proper box checked requesting no ad pop-ups.
THIS IS INCREDIBLY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do I remove it???
I can share some information on how to remove your those pop-up notification, @DM618.
If you’ve already set your Preferences to turn-off pop-up messages for products and services and still receiving this banner, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team.
They can check your account and safe environment and isolate why you’re still receiving this notification, and help you permanently remove this. You can follow the steps below on how to reach them:
Here's the contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team article for more information about this.
Also, here's a great resource on how to set your preferences for QuickBooks: Set Preferences for Payroll.

Anyone have success getting rid of the 'seasonal hiring' ad? It keeps coming back no matter how many times we close it. Yes, I have my preferences setting to turn off ads.
I have the same problem, and it is very annoying. We don't have seasonal employees, and this banner comes up every stinking day.
i second and third this -- I pay a lot of money for multiple licenses of QB (not to mention other services like payroll) - this is forced advertising on a paid product. How can I disable these notifications? I click the close "X" in the upper right and notification(s) keep coming back.
Thanks for joining this thread, @RangerRik1.
Have you turn-off the pop-up messages for products and services in the Preferences menu? If not, you may follow the steps provided by my colleague, ZachE. As of the moment, the option to remove the PPP banner on the Home Screen is unavailable. You have to ignore it by clicking the X button until this notification expires.
If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps, I suggest reaching out to our technical support team. They use specific tools to further investigate what causes the odd behavior of the software and generate steps to fix it for you.
Here's how:

This is the disappointing part:

:( - Dissatisfied customer.
Hi,
either you remove those unsolicited banners, or I will move my accounting to freshbooks or zoho books by January 1st.
I have been looking for another option with more features as customer portals and QB on line does not offer it.
These unwanted ads are my turning point.
I am also looking for another accounting software that doesn't force advertisements on me.
This is the behavior of trial software. I am a paying customer. Knock it off.
Very annoying to have to contact your slow customer service - REMOVE THE ADS
Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the Seasonal Hiring Tips Banner? My company is not a Seasonal Hiring kind of business. This is very irritating!!!!!!!!
Thank you for reaching out to us, @finefinishesofpi.
Let me walk you through how to turn off pop-up advertisements in your QuickBooks Desktop(QBDT) account.
Then, sign out and sign in again into your QBDT account to check if the pop-up advertisements don't show.
Additionally, check our Help article to know more about the products and services of QuickBooks Desktop.
Get back to me if you have any additional questions about the pop-up. I'm just a post away.
Hi Ethel,
I have already changed my preferences for pup-up messages months ago but the Seasonal Hiring Banner will not go away.
