I incorrectly marked an invoice as paid when it has not yet been paid by the customer. How can I correct this and change it back to an unpaid status?

This is an outstanding invoice and I want the original date listed, so creating a new invoice is not an option.

I incorrectly marked an invoice as paid when it has not yet been paid by the customer. How can I correct this and change it back to an unpaid status?

You can delete the associated payment transaction to change the status of your invoice from paid to unpaid, Aaron87. Let me guide you through the process step by step.

 

You'll want to go to the Sales menu and find the invoices that have been marked as paid. Removing the payment will change the status of the invoice back to open. To do so, you can follow the steps outlined below:

 

  1. Go to Sales, then select All Sales.
  2. Locate the invoice you want to change the status, then click Edit.
  3. Click the Manage icon.
  4. In the Status: Paid column, click the Activity hyperlink.
  5. Click the View payment hyperlink.
  6. Locate the invoices that were marked as paid.
  7. On the More button, select Delete.
  8. Click Delete transaction to confirm.
