Thank you for your reply! I am very confused as to why I was assigned a case number and asked to send forms to QuickBooks to be able to correct the 1099-NEC on line. I could have contacted the IRS mid-January before they were inundated with taxes. This has been very misleading and I have wasted time in contacting QuickBooks with no response when all someone had to do was tell me to contact the IRS.
Also, how do I get the pay amount corrected on QuickBooks so I can submit a revised 1099-NEC to the IRS? My employer paid me too much money (added a zero to my paycheck by mistake). It was deposited into my banking account but I promptly paid it back. How do I correct this? QuickBooks won't let me edit the amount as it was deposited into my banking account.
