Incognito mode or not Incognito mode?

I would like an answer from someone on the QBO side, please.

All right, every time in the past couple of years when I contacted support regarding how slow QBO was, I was always advised to use Incognito mode (Chrome). Now, I just happened to see a post where QBO advises that, to speed up performance, we should not use incognito mode.

Here's the post

Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?

which states in pertinent part

Many browsers today allow easy use of incognito mode. This mode can slow down performance for QuickBooks Online as each new session/visit to the site causes all site elements to be fetched again. Subsequent page loads in the same session should be faster but the initial page loads will be slower.

Incognito mode or not Incognito mode?

Thank you for reaching out with your question in the Community, FPCNS.

Desiring an answer is a positive feeling, and I am here to provide you with the information regarding your concern.

You can use incognito mode anytime. If you use Incognito isn't to speed up the program response behavior, it's to confirm if your regular browser has cached too many files, which can possibly cause the program to behave unexpectedly.

When using incognito mode, please remember to verify your account each time you log in.

Incognito mode or not Incognito mode?

Thank you for your time, but would you be able to directly answer the question? Which is preferred for speed, Incognito or not Incognito? Every QBO CSR to whom I have spoken over the past several years says Incognito (in fact, this is one of the first things they confirm) -- it appears that Intuit has changed its recommendation. What is the nuance I am missing?

Incognito mode or not Incognito mode?

I appreciate your diligence in seeking clarity on this matter, FPCNS.

The preference for browsing in Incognito mode when using QuickBooks Online (QBO) has been a common recommendation because it can often provide a smoother and faster experience by avoiding issues related to browser cache and cookies.

However, the performance can vary based on individual system setups and specific usage scenarios. Both Incognito and regular browsing modes have their pros and cons, and the preference can depend on personal or specific business needs.

If you are looking for speed and a clean browsing session without any pre-existing cache or cookies potentially interfering, Incognito mode is generally preferred.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with, FPCNS. I'm here to ensure you have the best possible experience with QBO!
