Good morning all,
I am not new to this Community but can't seem to get to my actual ID of Burkemperlawn hence the addition of "1". I am locked out of my QB Pro 2020 Desktop edition once again. Previous time was due to Update issues that led to an uninstall and reinstall (fun). This time after putting in my admin password it's due to "you haven't logged into your Intuit account in 25 days. Log in now" (it's been more than 25 days I can guarantee since I've been forced to log in to continue using my desktop QB) and "you need to update your software to log in" with no way to accomplish updating the software. I obviously can't access my QB Homepage to do updates. I have followed the prompts to update in the past, since the previous snafu with updates, and hit an error multiple times after clicking all the right prompts. I have been using QB desktop versions since 2006 or earlier and I am annoyed with the update issues that have cropped up in the last year. How can I do the updates I "need" to access my program? I am more comfortable doing an uninstall and reinstall after the last go round and I have a up-to-date USB back up to restore from if needed. Thank you.
Hello there, @Burkemperlawn1.
Let's get updates from our download website so you can access the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program and get back to business in no time.
You can do updates from outside the QBDT program. Since you're unable to access the system, you can go directly to our download site to complete this process. Here's how:
You can read this article for the complete guide to keeping your QuickBooks updated: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Once everything is all set, you may also want to check out one of our Help pages as your reference to guide you in managing your business's growth and transactions in QBDT: QuickBooks Learn and Support. Thank you for your reply. I followed all the steps you outlined to get and install the latest updates for my 2020 QB. I am still getting the following screen:
I am going to just Uninstall and reinstall. This is the 2nd update issue inside of a year that has locked me out. I find this very frustrating.
Except, now I can't remember how. *sigh*
I know this hasn't been easy for you, Burkemperlawn.
I'll assist you in gaining access to your company file so you can proceed with working your way back.
You must log into your Intuit Account once every 180 days when opening your company file due to the new improved security and protection measures. Press Alt + F4 from your keyboard to exit the login request page.
Then, you can follow these steps to log in to your Intuit Account:
Alternatively, you can also create a new company file.
Here's how:
For your reference, check out this article for more details: Set up and use Intuit account user management in QuickBooks Desktop.
Once logged in, you can now update your QuickBooks Desktop software to the latest release to ensure you have the latest features and fixes.
Don't hesitate to add any details below if you need further assistance accessing your company file. We're always available to help you.
The Alt F4 go me around the sign in page. I seems I have 2 Intuit accounts. An older one thay lists Pro 2014, 16 and 20. (I have used older versions) and a more recent that doesn't have any products linked to it. I have obviously goofed up something along the way when Admin set ups were required. I am still hitting the Intuit Login wall stating software updates. I can Login to Intuit through Company>My Company>Manage Your Account but not through the "Sign in" button on the My Company page.
Hi Burkemperlawn,
I appreciate all the efforts you've exhausted just to get this working.
Since there's no product tied to your new Intuit account, you'll want to try signing in using the older one associated with your QuickBooks Dekstop Pro 2020. If the program still prompts you to update your software to log in, I'd recommend re-installing the program to start over fresh.
Before you start, make sure to download the latest installer for your version of QuickBooks. Then, have your license number and up-to-date USB backup handy. You can find the numbers on the original package. If you bought it online, it should be in the purchase confirmation email. When you're ready, here's how to uninstall the program:
After that, follow the steps in these articles to install QuickBooks Desktop and restore your file:
Lastly, here's a reference that you can read to learn how to use CAMPs to manage all your account maintenance-related information like your subscription, payment methods, and product downloads: Change, manage or update your Intuit account with CAMPs.
Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have any other concerns or further questions about your Intuit account. I'll keep an eye out for your response.
Hello, yes very frustrating. This is the second time I am locked out in 2 months. A new update already since February 2023? This is atrocious a product can't be accessed!
