Buy nowYesterday, I migrated 2 companies from Desktop to Online.
For the 1st company, I received an xlsx file named Import Summary Report which provides info on the number of data records (e.g. Accounts, Customers) found in the Desktop database, the number imported into the Online database, and the Difference. It also reports on any unmatched Account balances.
I did NOT receive this xlsx file for the 2nd company I migrated.
I have spoken with both customer support and migration services support and no-one seems to be aware of the existence of this document, let alone how I can retrieve it.
Anyone out there???
Hi there, @mbaransky.
How are you doing today? I hope your day has been great so far.
The Import Summary Report is typically attached to an email you receive after migrating your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) data to QuickBooks Online (QBO). This report helps you compare your QBDT file with the new QBO file and identifies potential issues needing attention after the conversion.
Since you're not seeing the report with the second company, I wanted to clarify a few things before we begin troubleshooting.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Chat with you soon!
Thanks for your reply, Tori!
For each of the two companies (JLE and MM) I exported, I received an email stating that the migration was successful and the company was now online. Neither email has the Import Summary Report attached.
I think, although I can't be 100% sure, that the first time I went online to access JLE (the company I migrated first), the landing page displayed a bunch of migration stats along with the Import Summary Report, which I downloaded and have on my laptop. I can see the report in the downloads folder used by my Browser.
When I finished migrating the 2nd company (MM), I don't recall seeing that screen, but perhaps I did and I just didn't download the report - I can't be sure.
Is the report stored anywhere?
Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't permanently store a migration summary report after you move from QuickBooks Desktop. This is only displayed upon completion of the migration to provide a breakdown of the data that has been imported, mbaransky.
If you missed to review or save the report during migration, you can re-check the email linked to your QBO account. QuickBooks often sends an update that summarize the migration details, highlight any issues that you encounter, and often includes a link that contains information about the process once finalized.
For situations where the migration appears successful but the summary or report remains inaccessible, reaching out to QuickBooks Support is advisable. They can help you verify the migrated data, confirm the setup of your company file, and provide guidance or troubleshooting to address any concerns related to the transition.
To do so follow the steps provided below:
Here's what else you should know, the setup process is organized into clear sections, each packed with tutorial videos and step-by-step guidance to help you get started. I've added this for you: Get Started with QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you have any additional questions about migration or anything related to QBO. I'm always here ready and ready to help you further.
