Hello!
Can someone reliably give an honest answer when (actually if ever) QBO will have a feature for Inventory in multiple locations? For example it is highly common to have a retail shop/shop front with goods and a store/warehouse/back of shop with more of the same stock that is kept until it is needed. Therefore you would have 'Total Stock/Inventory', 'Shop stock', 'Store stock' and some kind of functionality to shift goods between the two.
I think this is a pretty basic need for many QBO users.
I've seen requests and complaints about this on the forums for some time now (actually some posts are years old - response has been 'they are working on it') but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
It is ridiculous that this feature can only be found when subscribing to an add-on that is 2/3 times more expensive than a pro subscription of QBO. Is this a tactic to get us to spend more cash? I wonder.
Thanks for dropping by in the QuickBooks Community, @yasbas.
May I know the type of subscription you're using in QuickBooks? This way, I can provide you with the right response for the feature request timeline.
The inventory feature is only available for Plus and Advanced subscriptions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you're using a lower version of the product, I'd recommend upgrading your plan to gain more access to advanced features available in QuickBooks.
Please take note that inventory location capability isn't available for all versions in QBO. Although, you can use the Category option to classify its location when creating an item.

We don't have any option but to purchase additional app to run the multi warehouse feature and integrate it to QBO or QBD. When we are using QB Desktop, the built-in feature is only available on the highest plan of QBD Enterprise.
Looking for the same thing - did you find a solution? What did you end up doing?
Looking at QB Enterprise or one of the marketplace applications.
You need a 3rd party app to manage multi warehouses and integrate it with QBO. One app starts at $79/month for 2 mobile phones + 4 users + 3 warehouses. Another app starts at $67/month for up to 3 users and $125/month for up to 8 users.
This post explains the Multi Location is available through advanced or up graded versions of QBO. Can you let me know what versions this is available on and how it works? Can you have many different locations and transfer from one location to another?

Which post do you mean? QB Online doesn't support multi warehouse feature. You need an inventory management app to integrate QB Online or switch to QB Desktop Enterprise Platinum.
Thanks for letting us know about your queries, @JoeCaz.
Yes, it's correct that multi-location tracking is only available in the Plus and Advanced versions. However, it's specifically for tracking transactions from different business locations which is helpful when you run reports by location.
QuickBooks Online doesn't support multi-warehouse features. Alternatively, you can consider a third-party inventory management application to obtain this functionality.
Here's how:

Hey there!
I understand your frustration with QBO not supporting multi-location inventory management directly. Yes, you can create inventory reports with money spread across locations but not quantities in item-level inventory. The QBO team probably recognizes that this function is not commonly needed by most users, which is why they offer third-party solutions through the app store.
For your specific needs, you can use Cleverence Warehouse 15. It's a great solution for tracking inventory across multiple locations. You can use mobile devices to print labels, scan barcodes, and keep your inventory data synced with QBO. This app lets you manage stock transfers, receiving, and shipping right where the operations are done, ensuring accurate records in QuickBooks.
I've used it and found it very effective. Plus, if you have fewer than 3 items per QB document, it’s free!

Hope this helps!
Hello!
I thought I would share this new option for tracking inventory in multiple stock locations for QuickBooks Online.
We’ve been developing Inventory and B2B Sales Apps for QuickBooks Online for almost 10 years now. We released a new one a few months ago, called Stockpit. Stockpit works like an add-on to QuickBooks Online to add more advanced Inventory management features, including tracking inventory in multiple locations. We even created a dedicated subscription plan for this feature (priced it at $9 / month).
Stockpit is a unique inventory app, you still use QuickBooks to create Estimates, Invoices, and Purchase orders. But here’s the cool part: we’ll sync this information to Stockpit to update your inventory based on the locations you choose in QuickBooks. Here is a short video to show you how it works.
Stockpit also has other inventory features like Lots numbers and expiry dates, Assemblies, Available and Reserved inventory,… More information on our website.
I hope this helps
