You can clear your QuickBooks Online (QBO) app data, @andy82. With this, you'll be able to remove the error message and update your bank connection accordingly.
Since your transactions are coming through fine on your QuickBooks for MacOS, it seems that the QBO app in your iOS device is now full of the cache. You'll have to clear your data to refresh the system and remove the older files that cause the app's unusual behavior. There are two places to execute the process. In the app itself and your phone settings. Let me guide you how.
In the QuickBooks Online app:
In your iPhone or iPad Settings:
After that, power down and restart your iPhone or iPad. This is to make sure the updates are implemented accordingly. Then, you can update your bank connection again.

Hi, I've tried the suggestions on several occasions, but still getting the same message about the connection having expired and unable to reconnect. However, transactions are still coming through in iOS as normal!

Since the issue persists using the app, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account to investigate the cause of the problem. Please note that we also have limited staff and reduced support hours due to the pandemic. They're only open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday-Friday.
