Welcome to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @joejenkins. I'm here to help with matching transactions.
QuickBooks Online will look for entered transactions to match with those downloaded from the Bank Feed. The Category or Match column will indicate if the software has found a potential match, along with details about the transaction. If you'd like to match the transactions, you would select the Match option in the Action column. I've included a screenshot to serve as an example of this:
In addition, I recommend the following article which walks a user through this process: Add and Match Downloaded Banking Transactions. This article is a great place to begin for matching transactions.
Lastly, since you've referenced that you're new to QuickBooks Online, I'm including a link to some tutorials: QuickBooks Tutorials. These resources are designed to help a person become acquainted with the software and get the most out of it for their business.
The Community has your back, so please let me know if you need anything else. Wishing you well.
Thank you. We just got set up a week or so ago and it is showing almost 300 that need review. Is this normal and do I have to review all them to be able to reconcile the bank statement when it's time for that?
Thank you for joining the thread, @Lojo311.
Let's review your transactions from the For Review tab, and get them reconciled in your QuickBooks Online.
First off, if you created transactions before downloading transactions from your bank, you'll need to match the downloaded transactions to transactions in QBO.
Here's how:
The transaction you matched are moved from the For Review tab to the In QuickBooks tab, then are marked as matched.
But if the transactions are not yet recorded in QuickBooks, we'll need to review and add the transactions. Let me guide you how:
After adding the transactions, you'll see them in the Reviewed tab.
Here's an article you read on for your reference: Add and Match Downloaded Banking Transactions.
Fill me in if you have further questions. I'll be around if you need any help.
