Non-Profit Chart of Account View

Good Morning, I am new to QBO and just setup my Chart of Accounts as Income > Non-Profit Revenue. I have reconciled transactions against my linked bank account, but in the COA view it only shows me a "Quickbooks Balance" and "Bank Balance" column. Is there a way to see the current running balance for my income account? There does not appear to be any column selection options other than the few provided by default, so I don't know the running balance without running a report.

Thank you in advance!

Non-Profit Chart of Account View

Good afternoon, @Treasurer-SJOTL

Thanks for reaching back out and giving us some additional information.

I can see how beneficial this could be for your business. However, you'll only be able to run the report to view the details you need.

With that being said, I recommend submitting your feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider adding this as an option in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear (Settings) icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Select Feedback
  3. Enter your suggestions.
  4. Press Next to submit your feedback.

Feel free to come back if you have any other questions. I'm only a post away. Take care!

We understand that navigating the Chart of Accounts can be confusing sometimes, @Treasurer-SJOTL. So, I'm here to provide valuable insights you can use to manage your business in QBO.

To view your income account's running balance, here's how:

  1. Go to Chart of Accounts
  2. Choose the specific Income account you want to view.
  3. On the same row, click View Register.
  4. Go to the small gear icon and tick the Running Balance box.

After that, you will see the Balance column at the right-most part of the table. Your Income account's running balance will reflect on this area.

Additionally, we suggest you make sure the Date is arrowed up to ensure that reflected transaction at the top of the table is the current running balance.

Thank you! Unfortunately this is a "Revenue" account and so I don't have a "View Register" option, it only gives me a "Run Report" option. Is there a way to view the running balance for this revenue account from the COA screen?

Thanks!
