Open Sales Orders Report

How do I create a report for Open Sales Orders by Date? There's a saved report in QBs for by Customer and by Item but I can't seem to remove these sort filters.

Open Sales Orders Report

I acknowledge the importance of running report for Open Sales order by date in QuickBooks. I guarantee to give steps to your concern, @canoel95.

We can run and sort open sales orders by items and customers when running the Sales Orders by Customer or Item report. However, please note that the option to create this type of report by date is currently unavailable.

Please follow the steps below to get this done right away:

  1. Proceed to the Reports menu and hover over to Sales
  2. Select Open Sales Orders by Items, once the report is opened, click the Customize Report button to modify the report based on the data you need.
  3. In the Display column, search for an Item so the report will show the item included on the Sales Orders.
  4. Select the correct date range. Click OK when done.
  5. Once finished, select the Refresh option to see the changes.

With this, you can send feedback to our product developers about the feature you'd like to have in QuickBooks. We value your input, and our software engineers may consider adding your suggestion in the upcoming updates. Here's how:

  1. Select the Help option. Then Send Feedback Online option.
  2. Hit the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays.
  3. Enter your feedback suggestion, click the Send Feedback button. The feedback is sent.

Please share your thoughts with us. As a workaround, I recommend exporting to Excel and sorting the report by date from there.

Open Sales Orders Report

I do NOT want to sort by Item. I just want to sort all open sales orders by Date. Here's a screenshot from Excel for what I'm looking for in QBs:

Open Sales Orders Report

Being able to sort open sales orders by date is beneficial to track their status efficiently, canoel95. Let's work together to share this idea with our product developers.

The Open Sales Orders by Customer and Open Sales Orders by Item are the default reports in QuickBooks. We can sort them by date while grouped by customer. Please know that the system will put the invoiced ones on top while the rest follow the order by date. In this case, removing their sort filters is unavailable, but customizing is possible.

I recommend sending your vision to our Product Development Team. They will review it and may consider implementing depending on the no. of the user's request. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Help icon at the top menu.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online and then click Product Suggestion.
  3. Enter your request, then tap Send Feedback.

Keep an eye on your proposals through this website and stay updated on recent developments by visiting our blog.

In the meantime, you may continue exporting reports to Excel to further tailor them according to your needs.
