Hello,
Our company recently established a secondary trade name. With this, we established custom templates for estimates and invoices to match this trade name and logo. However, when I make a packing slip, the template is that of the original template, rather than the new custom templates. Is there a means of making the packing slip template match the invoice template without altering the master template?
Thanks in advance,
Thank you for contacting us about the template of the packing slip, Jeremy S.
The packing slip is a standard format and you're unable to edit it. You can customize other sales forms, like invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.
To print a packing slip:
On the other hand, you can send a request about the feature that you want. Let me show you how:

I'm unsure if the question is properly understood. I am not looking to alter the formatting of the template, but rather the contents.

If the answer is the same, I understand but just want to ensure my question is understood.
Thank you,
Thanks for coming back to us, @Jeremy S.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can change the color of the Standard template and your Packing slip will follow. The packing slip is a standard format and cannot be edited. However, you can customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts to make it personalize and add the information that matters most to your business.
In the meantime, I'd encourage checking our QuickBooks Blog from time to time to stay current with the latest feature available in QBO.

If you run an exporter company, consider having an additional app as a workaround to integrate with your QBO.
What app is that?
I'm trying to make a proper packing slip, customized. I also need to ship in batches.
For example:
Company XYZ ordered 100 Apples
I'm shipping 60 right now, and 40 are on backorder.
How do i do this?
For your case, I would recommend another app
Intuit has acquired this app last year to be part of the family. You should explore it to integrate with your QBO.

Why can’t you add pricing to the online version of a packing slip. We always were able to in desktop. Please add this feature. Especially seeing you offered it in the desktop version and our customers are used to having it
Providing the best experience with the product is what we aim for, UniformMJ.
I know how beneficial it is to your business to add pricing to the packing slip template. However, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). With this said, I'd recommend sending this request straight to our product engineers through feedback. Sharing features and options that you would like implemented is how our engineers look for new product updates. Here's how:
You'll want to check for a third-party application that can help you with this one. You can check out the apps that are compatible with QuickBooks at this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:
Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account are best handled by the third-party app provider. For more tips and other resources, you may visit our page in managing your business in QuickBooks: QBO Self-help articles.

Going to the gear icon and clicking on feedback, does nothing. Come on Intuit! Get it together! We need the ability to edit a freaking packing list. Not creating an invoice/sales receipt, disguised as a packing list, with financial information still on the page! For that matter, the invoice templates are NOT user friendly either! There was only 1 template I could get to work, as we use windowed envelopes to mail invoices to customers. Only the 1 was I able to get the information in the windows that I needed. And even then, I was NOT able to include our company logo with the address information. I at least made it useable, but NOT what I want. The packing list, on the other hand, I can't even make it useable! A packing list without a part number, item number, or sku number, depending on what you want to call it, is UNUSEABLE! I have seen posts from people going back close to 4 years, now. This is unacceptable. I have told your people on the phone before, and I'm saying it again here. If there was another company that offered up a workable product, at a competitive price, or even remotely close to the price of QB, I would be using that instead! Of course, I guess that is the problem, isn't it? You get what you pay for. Except, the Quickbooks Desktop product I was using prior to moving to online, was $299 for the software and was useable for 3 years before needing to be upgraded. Now, I am paying MUCH MORE THAN THAT, EVERY YEAR, for a software solution that does not even come close to competing with the 3 year older desktop version. In fact, we're back to that again, it will not let us edit a simple freaking packing list!
