Payments move account problem

I need to move my quickbooks payments account from online to enterprise desktop, and have been in contact with support at least 3 times about this. We can get it to show in desktop, but not actually connect so that I can process payments.
A couple questions, do I have to close my quickbooks checking account in online first, or do I have to close my online account first. At this point I dont want to do either as I need a way to charge cards.

I have had the payments account for years and have negotiated rates on it so I dont want to start a new payments account.
However one of the quickbooks convinced me to open another account and that would not connect either, probably because you are not allowed to have 2 accounts.
I am sure this is just a problem that needs to be pushed higher up the ladder but I have no idea how to do that.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Payments move account problem

Hello there, @sequoyahdog.

It's my pleasure to provide additional details about your concern with moving your payments account to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) from QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QuickBooks, moving from QBO payment accounts to QBDT is unavailable. You'll need to apply for a new QBDT-specific payments account.

Additionally, we have an ongoing investigation about Merchant or Payments accounts getting access denied when opening linking to a company file. With that, you can still keep your QuickBooks Checking and QBO account.

Moreover, I suggest contacting our Technical support team for further guidance and updates about the ongoing issue with adding Payments to QBDT. Check out this article for reference: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.

Furthermore, if you want to close your QuickBooks checking account, please make sure that your account has a $0 balance. Utilize your remaining balance or transfer it to your external bank account. Once the balance is $0, you can give a call at the number on the back of your QuickBooks Debit Card. Our team is available to assist you in finalizing everything. Alternatively, you can contact our QuickBooks Payments Support to close or disconnect the account.

If you want to cancel your QBO account, please refer to this article for further guidance: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

I'm also attaching these helpful guides for managing QuickBooks Payments and  Checking accounts:

Payments move account problem

Thank You for explaining that the payments account cant be moved from online to desktop. I wish somone would have told me that last year when I moved it from desktop to online. We process a lot of money through quickbooks payments and opening a new account without my negotiated rates is just out of the question when I am told I cant apply for a rate review for 3 months when we will be in a month that we do around a million in sales. Besides the fact that 3 people have failed to accomplish that. I will probably have to use both online and desktop for the mean time, but it is extra work and will be exploring a better solution till this gets sorted out
