Recently we have received the attached message approximately 1 week ago which popped up on opening the QB file. A call was made to the phone number attached, [removed]. John answered who indicated that we have had a corrupted data file since April 2022 (it is now November.) We have not received this message previously and are working on the QB file from 2 different computers. The QB file was installed on a new computer mid Oct and the company files were transferred to the new computer from a back-up of the data from the old computer. No issue or message occurred on the new computer until last week (no message has occurred on the old computer). QB was deleted and reinstalled on the new computer as a double check. John indicated that he could fix the corrupted data files, but I would need to purchase a plan which included their support services, for a subscription price of $1800./yr. We performed a check in QB on both computers to verify if there were any corrupted data files and no data errors were found. Has anyone else received the attached message and if yes, what are your thoughts.
Thank you for adding a screenshot, 321donna.
As of now, we haven't received reports that has the same issue as yours.
Let's perform some steps tp resolve the error. When the system detects a data integrity issues, you'll be prompted with an error. Before rebuilding the file, can you share with me the QuickBooks Desktop version you have?
In the meantime, let's verify the data again. Then, rebuild the file. Here's how:
If you see a specific error message, try searching for it on our QuickBooks Desktop support site for specific instructions. If the system prompts you with Your data has lost integrity, there is data damage in the file. Continue to rebuild the data to correct the problem.
If you need more resources in managing your file, you can check this reference: QuickBooks Help Articles.
I'll be around whenever you have concerns.
I'm under the impression the Support Contracts are half of that, but I don't have a contract, so I could be wrong.
And I'd normally say go to Help and then Contact Us get the Support Number, but I'm hesitant to get the number out of your system. The number you showed does not show up as a QBs number, but that may only be my generic search of the number.
I'd suggest you log in to your camps.intuit.com account and then:
- Click on the ? (Help) in the upper right corner
- At the very bottom click on Contact Us
- Choose QuickBooks Desktop and click Continue
- Choose your Version and put "Support" in the question box and click Continue
You should end up on a screen that gives you the option to Chat or to put your Phone# in and they'll call you back when you're turn comes up.
And one of the Employees here may have another option, but that is a safe way to make sure you've actually gotten to Intuit/QuickBooks Support.
Can you find the following files in the same folder?
90s.trf
QuickBooksDownloader.exe.config
QuickBooksDownloader.exe.manifest
I have the exact same issue.
One of our computers shows this message.
We have 3 companies, so we have 3 different company files that we use.
The message pops up after a period of time. It is not related to the company file.
I also tested with a totally clean file that had no information in it. Still happened.
Not sure how the scam people got that on the computer.
I did some digging around in Task Manger and noticed a second QB running process and I right clicked it and then clicked on Open File Location. It took me to the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit. Inside there, there was the normal QuickBooks folder that should be there, but there were also 8 files in this folder that were not on any other computers at the client's office (https://imgur.com/a/g9ICcbc). I double clicked the (err.html) and sure enough it was the popup. I deleted all files in the folder and then restarted the computer. So far no popup, but I will have to see if it comes back at the end of the day.
I have no idea how the files got there (user swears he did not download anything). I will keep monitoring this computer to verify that the issue is fixed.
Hello there! Thank you for posting here in the Community. I appreciate the steps you've performed when trying to open your QuickBooks Desktop file.
We can run the Verify Data tool which self-identifies the most commonly known data issues within a company file. Then, try running the Rebuild Data to resolve data integrity issues. Here's how to Verify data:
For detailed information, try searching for the problem message you are seeing on our QuickBooks Desktop help website. You may have data damage in the file if the system alerts you that your data has lost integrity. Rebuilding the data is still being done to fix the issue.
Once done, try rebuilding data by following the steps below:
I'll be adding these articles for more details about verifying and rebuilding data features in QuickBooks:
I'm always here if you still have questions about your file and or anything else, by leaving a comment below. Take care and have a wonderful day.
This is a hack, not a legitimate problem with Quickbooks.
You need to remove the files that have been installed that will continue to open and popup the message.
Reinstalling QB does not help, because the files are still on the computer.
You have to remove the hacker files.
Hi McGuire9809,
Thank you for getting back to us. If the error still exists even on a clean company file, this is something that we need to check further. I also understand that you found a different folder that caused the popup, which then came back a few days after you deleted it. Have you tried scanning your computer with an antivirus or anti-malware?
Would you mind getting in touch with our QB Desktop Support so that they can use more tools to gather data and investigate this further?
