printing partial checks

Hello Community,   I have HP Officejet printers,  My 8610 broke and I purchased a 8028.  Printing partial checks with the 8610 was awesome and easy to use, put the check in just like a regular sheet of paper.  Now with the new one, I have a 8028 and can not figure out how to get partial checks, two on a page or a single check to print.  Do any of you use HP printers, (Fax, Scan, and Print) and recommend one that is easy to use for printing checks with quickbooks.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thank you!!!

Hello there, @Heidi1.

To begin with, let’s ensure your new printer is set up correctly while waiting for other community members to recommend an easy-to-use printer. Here’s how:

  1. Restart your computer and turn your printer off and back on.
  2. Make sure you load the printer paper correctly.
  3. Open Printers and Faxes through the Control Panel.
  4. Right-click your printer to check its status ,and select Use Printer Online if it shows Offline.
  5. Double-click the printer, and if there are print jobs displayed in the queue, select Printer, then Cancel All Documents.
  6. Close the window, then access Properties by right-clicking the printer ,and then select Print Test Page. Note: For network printers, a failed test page may indicate connectivity issues.

Step 2: Check QuickBooks printer settings

  1. Open the File menu in QuickBooks and select Printer Setup.
  2. Choose the form you’re trying to print and verify that the printer name matches your device. If not, adjust the settings in your computer’s Printer Setup.
  3. Use the Help option for further guidance.

For Solutions 3 and 4, refer to this article: Fix printing issues in QBDT.

If the issue continues, I suggest contacting your new printer’s support team to examine the device, as you had no trouble printing checks with your previous printer.
