QB Pro 2019 freezing and unusable

The freezing has gotten so bad that I cannot even save an invoice or backup files. Tried quckbooks tool hub and reinstalled, both a few times. Have renamed directories and files as old before reinstall. I finally installed QB Pro 2019 on my laptop and imported my qbw file and all is good on the laptop. Sure would be nice to be able to run on my desktop again.  My guess is that the registry is corrupt. Any ideas?

Try to clean install

Tried that a couple times. Also tried solution 2, renaming directory.  Also, renamed QBWUSER.ini and EntitlementDataStore.ecml files.

Which Windows OS are you running on both machines? Do they have the same version? e.g Win 10 20H2

win 10 on desktop and win 11 on laptop. Been running on desktop fine for a couple years.

Am I being scammed?

Received the attached private message, called [removed], verified my info including license #, was asked to download Rescue by Log Me In and they gave me a code. At which point I questioned to whom I was speaking. Was given a call back number of [removed]. Cannot find either # published and do not know if I was in touch with QB.

Thanks for reaching back out to us with your concern about receiving a private message within the Community. 

 

The only way to get in touch with our Customer Support Team is requesting a callback through your QuickBooks Desktop account. 

 

The only people that are associated with QuickBooks will have a "QuickBooks Team" or "Moderator" underneath their username/name in the Community. 

 

If the user in the screenshot you gave to me doesn't have these titles under the name, then I don't recommend using the number they provided.

Thanks Candace, it does not appear that Jackson Miller has such status. Hopefully having my license # cannot be used to create to much havoc.

Please note that we do have a specific contact support method in QuickBooks. We do not display support phone numbers here in the QuickBooks Community for security reasons.

 

The way to contact us is through these steps:

 

  1. On your QuickBooks company file, click the Help menu.
  2. Tap the QuickBooks Desktop Help option.
  3. Press Contact us on the pop-up box.
  4. Click on the Search for Something else button then type your concern in the Ask us anything box.
  5. Hit Search, then scroll down to get your contact options.

Also, I've looked into the phone number you provided and found out that it wasn't a legit support phone number for QuickBooks. It is a scam tech support line, so we do not recommend engaging with them or even calling the phone numbers given to you by a non-Intuit support. Be careful with giving your personal information, especially if they request to access your computer.

 

For now, we do recommend contacting our support provider through the steps I added earlier to report this incident. Our agents can also help you out with fixing your company file.
