Quick Pick List

Let's make sure the Quick Pick items will show the correct quantity, New Era.

Ideally, once you have already the connection established between QuickBooks POS and your device, you'll have to edit the items you want to be available on your mobile device in your POS software to set them to sync. To ensure all the items shows the correct quantity, you have to create a Quick Pick group first. To this, I've outlined the steps below:

  1. On the homepage, select Make a Sale to start a new sales receipt.
  2. Select Quick Pick Items.
  3. Select Add Group.
  4. Give the new group a name. If you need to rename, remove, or change the color of the group icon, right-click and select the option.

Then, add items to a Quick Pick group. Here's how:

  1. Open a new sales receipt and select Quick Pick Items.
  2. Select the group you want to add items to.
  3. Select Add Item.
  4. In the Select an Item field, enter the product or service name to search your inventory. Then select it from the list. You can also scan the item. If you want to check out all of your Quick Pick groups and items, select the Reports menu. Then select Items and Quick Pick Item List.

If you want to remove an item from a group:

  1. Open a new sales receipt and select Quick Pick Items.
  2. Select the group you want to remove items from.
  3. Right-click the item you want to remove and then select Remove Item from Quick Pick.

Please know that this only removes the item from the group, not from your inventory list. Also, here's how you can add Quick Pick items to a sales receipt:

  1. Open a new sales receipt and select Quick Pick Items.
  2. Select the Quick Pick group.
  3. Select the item and then Continue to add it to the sales receipt.

Hi: Thanks for the reply. I am not talking about using a mobile device. I am talking about on the workstations.

Quick Pick List

Hello there again, @New Era.

Since you're experiencing the issues with Quick Pick List not showing the correct quantity on your workstation, I suggest verifying and rebuilding data on your QuickBooks Desktop.

Verify Data self-identifies the most common data issues within a company file, while Rebuild Data self-resolves the majority of the data integrity concerns found by Verify Data

Here are common reasons to use the Verify and Rebuild features:

  • Fatal errors when you use QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Discrepancies on reports, such as invoices or bills that post with negative values.
  • Deposited payments show up in the Payments to Deposit window.
  • Balance sheet reports do not show all accounts.
  • Names are missing from lists.
  • Transactions are missing.
  • Run a well-data checkup to make sure your company file is error-free.

To verify data:

  1. Select Window then Close All.
  2. Verify Data. Click on File then select Utilities. Click on Verify Data.

If you see:

  • "QuickBooks detected no problems with your data," no further action is needed.
  • A specific error message, there may already be an article for it. Try searching for it in our QuickBooks Desktop support site for specific instructions.
  • "Your data has lost integrity," indicates there is data damage in the file.  Continue to the steps below to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.

To rebuild data:

  1. Click on FileUtilities then select Rebuild Data.
  2. Click Ok if you receive a message to back up your company file.
  3. Choose where you want to save your backup, then choose OK at the bottom of the QuickBooks Desktop Backup window.
    • If a message asks if you want to replace another backup file, choose NO. Type in a new name in the File name field and hit Save.
    • If the backup fails, select Cancel at the Rebuild prompt and contact Payroll Support for additional assistance.
  4. The Rebuild Data utility starts as soon as the backup is done.
  5. Select OK if you get the message "Rebuild has completed".

To check for remaining data damage, see this: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

We're always here to back you up. Just reply to this thread for additional questions about this matter or QuickBooks. Take the best care!

Since the issue is coming from your QuickBooks Point of Sales, you'll want to make sure that the program is updated to the latest release. Here's an article for the steps: Update QuickBooks Point of Sale.

Once updated, try to check if the Quick Pick items in your QB POS 19 shows the correct quantity. Otherwise, follow the troubleshooting steps in these articles:

Then, check the items again. If the steps above doesn't work, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They can further investigate what's causing the issue and help you fix it. Thanks for the explanation. It doesn't solve the problem. I had contact with a couple people who work with POS all the time. Both said this is a known issue that Intuit doesn't acknowledge. However the good news is it doesn't seem to affect anything important. So, the best way to fix it is to set the Icons in the Quick Pick list to solid color and just ignore it.

did you ever resolve this?

I just installed an update (R9) and have the same issue now.  I do not want to just ignore it......
