Thanks for posting here in the Community, @DebbiS2.

Yes, you can print checks in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, a fee will be charged for processing the payment. An additional ACH payment of $0.50 and for check payment of $1.50 per transaction.

To print your check you can simply:

  1. Go to the Expense menu at the left navigation panel.
  2. Choose the Vendor section.
  3. Locate the specific vendor and choose the Transaction List tab.
  4. Find the bill payment check.
  5. Click on the Print check at the bottom of the screen.

If you want to see how much you're paying each vendor every month, you can check this article: Monthly expense report.

Thanks for the response. But, not exactly the answer to my question.  My client has check forms.  She wants to be able to print checks in-house or pay on-line via ACH or EFT. Can she perform both functions with the subscription to Bill Pay.

Hi there, DebbiS2.

I appreciate your prompt response. Allow me to join the thread and clarify things with your query about printing checks.

Yes, your client can perform both functions with the subscription to Bill Pay.

You can print checks within QuickBooks Online (QBO) by turning off the Online payment mode. Doing this can help you print checks.

To do this, here's how:

  1. Click the + New button in the left menu,
  2. Select Pay Bills.
  3. Turn off the Online payment mode.
  4. Select the Bill you want to print.
  5. Choose Save and print.
  6. In the Print Checks window, select the check you'd want to print.
  7. Select Preview and print.
  8. Once ready, click Print.

Then, if you want to process payment via Bill pay, you'll have to toggle it back to have the option to pay online via ACH or EFT.

To know more how you can use QuickBooks Bill Pay, see this article: Learn about QuickBooks Bill Pay.

If your checks don't print correctly in the future, you may need to open the print setup and adjust your alignment settings. For detailed steps, see this article: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

If you have any further questions in printing your checks in QBO, let me know by commenting below. I'll be happy to answer them for you. Have a great day!

I'll send the answer to my client.  I cannot see the same screens she does in Accountants' mode.

Thank you.
