I believe they have a fix for 2021-2023 or at least I saw it on one of these post. You might need to update your software or delete it and then reload. Hopefully you have a backup of your files. If you have an older Mac that didn’t update to Sonoma you can still run QB 2019 and thats what I did. The reason I bought QB back in 1996 was so I did not have to hand write checks anymore
Download the installer file of QBD 2022 and you can run it without the installation code.

They have uploaded the latest release to support Sonoma although they have not updated the "What's new" information. Then try opening the sample file to make sure it works without crashing.
No I haven't tried loading a trial version, because it is a joke that any of us are even dealing with this crap! It should just work, that's why we all pay for this service? right? we should not be downloading trials, to find that they don't work, like others on here have stated. Why would I do any of this if everyone is on here saying that it doesn't work?!!!
From what I have read on here, no version works with Sonoma.
I guess this is all apples fault, I'm sure Intuit didn't have any time to put anything in place? What a joke
Don't fall for their scams, they are trying to get us all to switch, and PAY, for a new version. It sounds a little suspicious to me, how this all has gone down! Let's just say there is no fix BUT if you upgrade to a new version we can supply you with patches and fixes and work arounds! SNEEKY
Your QBD 2019 is outdated and they won't release any patches for it. If you are reluctant to install the trial version, contact me personally. I can share some options to consider.
What update?

What kind of update do you need?
I'm a homeowner who began on Quicken for Mac and when they stopped supporting Mac converted to Quickbooks for Mac. I'm currently running Quickbooks for Mac 2019. I just upgraded to Sonoma only to find that my Quickbooks won't even open! What is the status of any updates that will fix this problem?
Since I'm only using the basic management of expenses and customized accounts and absolutely none of the business features, I have no need or the budget for Quickbooks monthly online payment services. Far too costly for me.
I've reached out to both Quicken and Quickbooks about converting my data from Quickbooks back into Quicken, but was told I can go from Quicken to Quickbooks, but not Quickbooks to Quicken. How can this be! I believe I need to have my data converted into a dxf, gif or cvs file? Has anyone had any success converting their data and switching Quicken?
Is anyone familiar with any other programs that is able to accept the data from Quickbooks? Really don't want to lose 18 years of data!
Thanks!

Good news, maybe? I've just updated my Mac to 14.1 -- the newly released version of Sonoma -- and my copy of QuickBooks 2019 has started to work again, after having failed under 14.0. I can log in, open a company book, make changes, and sign out. I have no idea what's going on or for how long it's going to continue, but so far so good? Hearing about other experiences with this would be great!
Yes, I updated and have access. But like you, have no idea how long that will last. Desperate to find a solution to transfer data to Quicken (have been told by all, that is not possible). Or find another software that is similar. I'm only using about 5% of the Quickbooks software.... don't have a business, not running any of the payroll, etc. Just tracking and managing household expenses.
Hi there, jrm. I appreciate you for sharing this information and I'm glad to know that your QuickBooks Desktop Mac is working again after updating to version 14.1.

Yeah, sure, if only we could buy them...I am stuck with 2020 for Mac and no real possible way to move online.
What can we do? for a 2024 or at least 2023?
Yeah sure, if only we could buy them...in my case I can't go online version.
You can purchase QB Desktop 2024 Mac Plus. What's holding you back?
Where?
QB Desktop 2024 Mac Plus starts from $650 for a single user license. You can't buy it online. You have to call their sales team to get it. Try [removed].
Another option, you can purchase it through selected partners. You can get it tax exempt and no credit card required.
Hello
I just updated to Sonoma 14.1 and YES IT IS WORKING THUS FAR!!!
Thanks for your help, since intuit was none. They wanted me to upgrade to a new version, of course!
They will never get another penny of my money. Moderators want to chime in here and there with bs generic replies. Ignoring questions then say “we are here to help 24/7”. Y’all are crooks, screw you and your corporate greed subscription model. I just spend 3 hours inputting my data back into 2019. Seems to be working fine minis the crash after exporting file for accountant. Intuit was been ZERO help. I’m looking into a class action lawsuit. Will keep everyone here informed.
what is holding back thousands if your customers of QB is the cost! we do not want to be trapped to a monthly subscription. you are holding us hostage. its a conspiracy by QB to get us to have to pay to them for life.
QB Intiuite could fix the glitch in a matter of minutes if they chose to and get their customers back to using their desk top versions. NOT everyone wants to cloud their private information and its Its an abomination that Intuit thinks it can get away with by forcing us to move to an online expensive subscription
wtih the desk top version one can handle amny accounts for the same fee of owning the desktop. with the Online verison - qb does not offer a multi account fee. so the cost for me would jump 5 times!! there is no way I am doing that. I pulled out my older computer which still has my qb desk top installed on it, and will continue to hanle all the bokkeepign for my small buisnesses using my older ocmputer, and UNTIL QB installs an update that allows theri customers to gain access agin to their files using sonoma. If they do not correc the bug I think we should file a class acdtion suit against QB for holding our accounts hostage!
IT IS GENERIC BS replies! They do not care about their customers
MONEY is holding me back!
I am perfectly happy with my 2019 version.
can you imagine if you bought a 2019 car, drove it well, did not put on a lot of miles, took care of it, and planned to enjoy the car for many years knowing you owned
it and bought it out right?
then after 3 years.. bam.. it stops working because of a chip timer in the system and the car dealer calls you to say "well after 3 years we think you need a nicer newer car so we disabled yours.. WE think you need a new car.. come on in and buy one"
NO I LIKE MY 2019 QB for mac.. .i do not put on a lot of miles on my car and want to keep driving it around town.. . I
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
I feel the exact same way. In 2018 they coned me into upgrading from 2016, to the 2019 version. NOT falling for that SH*T from them again. When I called, and they finally called me back 3 hours later, all they tried to do is get me over to sales to upgrade.
I will participate in a class action lawsuit if it gets there.
Thanks
