I can no longer find links to QuickBooks Desktop certification or badges. Are those still being offered? If so, where are they? A post from July said they were inside the QB Online Accountant site, under ProAdvisor certifications. Not there.
I’ve got the information you need about the ProAdvisor certification, Phil.
The QuickBooks Desktop certification badge is available in the left menu bar of the QuickBooks Online Accountant screen. From there, you’ll find courses for all of the QuickBooks products to prepare you for the certification exams.
Here’s how:
I've added this illuminating guide to help you learn more about training and exams: Earn your QuickBooks Desktop certification.
If you have any other questions or concerns besides certification, just let me know. I'm here to help any time. Always take care!
Madelyn,
It must have changed. The QuickBooks Desktop certification is no longer there. Please check it out for yourself and see. Your answer is the same one that was posted last July, but it is incorrect.
Good evening, @PHIL SYKORA.
Thanks for reaching back out and letting us know you don't have the option.
We discontinued the QuickBooks Desktop Advanced Certification training modules and exam. This was effective as of December 31, 2018.
ProAdvisors who successfully pass the QuickBooks Desktop Advanced Certification exam on or before December 31, 2018 will maintain their certification status for three (3) years, starting on January 1, 2019, without any additional actions required.
No new QuickBooks Desktop Advanced Certifications will be granted after this date.
Here's a guide that can provide some additional details: Frequently Asked Questions about ProAdvisor Certification.
I hope this helps answer your question. I'm only a post away if you need me. Take care!
I did not ask about the Advanced certification, only the basic QuickBooks Desktop certification. Please respond with respect to that.
Thanks for getting back to us, @PHIL SYKORA.
QuickBooks Desktop certified isn't available in the QuickBooks Online Accountant ProAdvisor menu. This is the reason why you're unable to see it on the list.
If you need a hand in accessing the certification, I'd recommend chatting with our U.S.-based agent or calling us using the phone number listed in this article: How to earn your QuickBooks Desktop certification.

Becoming a ProAdvisor helps grow your firm, accounting skills, and QuickBooks expertise. You can learn more about this by checking out this article: How the ProAdvisor program works.
Should you have any follow-up questions or concerns, don't hesitate to post again here in the Community or leave a comment on this thread. Take care and have a good one.
Viewing the link below, it looks like there is no longer free Quickbooks Desktop certification, is that correct?

Thank for joining the thread, @CountOnMiller.
I want to make sure you have all the needed information about the QuickBooks Desktop certification.
The rates you saw on the Proadvisor page, is when you manage clients and want to purchase QuickBooks Desktop for Accountants.
However, I would recommend contacting our ProAdvisor Team. They can assist if you have questions with the certification and trainings by chatting with a U.S.-based agent.
You can also find our phone number from this link. Just click the We're here to help section.
Please update this thread if you have other questions or inform us how the call goes. I'll be right here to help.
Another pathway to get certified

This is positively non-existent in the ProAdvisor page. I've spent several hours today with QB help and none can give me a straight access to QB Desktop Training or Certification. All links push one to the Online product and programs. Madness!
The Online system is not like the superior Desktop version. If it were it may be OK. But it is a different product and program as I mentioned. It's a great business model for Intuit, but it sucks for the customer. I like QB, as do other accountants I know, but not one accountant I have spoken to about this has said they like the Online version. Access to the Cloud is great, but the QB Online product is not.
Help us get Desktop without renting it year after year. Help us get Certification in the Desktop versions, please.
CORRECTION: I just now read that Intuit has discontinued the Desktop ProAdvisor as of 2019, but previous Certifications will last for 3 more years. So, no new Desktop Certifications! Well, there's always good competition to correct the problem!

I see you’ve been through a lot getting things as they should be, B3BS.
I can share some details about the ProAdvisor Certification program in QuickBooks Desktop.
Generally, we release the QuickBooks Desktop certification course once every year.
The exam from the previous year is still accessible for a few months after the introduction of the new version. The data will be unavailable if there's incomplete progress you've made on an exam or its training modules.
If you wish to add materials for QuickBooks Desktop, you would need to have a QuickBooks Desktop ProAdvisor membership. On top of that, you'll get a free license for the bundled software of your choice.
If you avail of the ProAdvisor bundle, there's no additional charge.
I've added this link for an overview of your current QuickBooks Desktop 2022: An exclusive QuickBooks ProAdvisor price.
For more details on how to get certified, exam updates, and FAQ about the certification, please see this article:
Should you need more information about the desktop certification, please let me know. I'd love to provide them for you.
I've been studying the course Quickbooks Desktop Certification 2022 (which I never took) that was appearing in our pro-advisor available to take it, last time I practiced was last Friday 08/19/2022 and everything was fine, and today I try to continue it, and to my surprise, the course wasn't there anymore. Why do they take it out from one week to another?
I work in a firm with a Pro-Advisor Certificate, and all of us that belong to the team have to get a Certification of Quickbooks Online when we start in the company or Re-Certification of Quickbooks Online every year, and we have available those courses to take.
But we also manage clients that we have in the Quickbooks Desktop version and the firm has the licenses for that too. So, why we are banned from those Desktop Courses? The answer that some person from Quickbooks support gave me, was that the only person that has the option to take the Course of Quickbooks Desktop is the owner of the firm. I mean, is the owner who has to train every team member he hires because he is the only one that can learn or get the certification??? That doesn't make sense.
It should apply the same thing as Quickbooks Online, every team under the company should have the opportunity to get the certification and learn how to use the Tool.
Another thing, reading this thread of messages, one of them says that the Quickbooks Desktop certification was removed and has not been available since December 2018. If so, why when the courses were still available last week, the course I was taking was Quickbooks Desktop Certification 2022?
I'm attaching my training and certification history as proof that it was available until last week and that it was Quickbooks Desktop Certification 2022, and that it doesn't make any sense that was removed in 2018.
I would like to complete my certification and so is my team.
Can someone please answer why Intuit has this inconsistent way to provide the courses to their Pro-Advisor Firms?
It's not the experience we want you to have when trying to take the QuickBooks Desktop Certification, @AndySoto.
As mentioned by my colleague above, we generally release a new version of the QuickBooks Desktop certification course about once a year. When the new version is released, the previous year's exam generally remains available for a few months. Once an exam is discontinued it is no longer available and any partial progress you made on the exam or its training modules is lost.
The Desktop Certification training was added to the customer that is entitled to it. If you're eligible/entitled to it, but you don't have an access, I suggest contacing our ProAdvisor support for further guidance.
Additionally, let me share these links you can utilize to learn more about the ProAdvisor certification course and exam updates:
Fill me in if you have other questions about taking the QuickBooks Desktop Certification training. I'll be around to help you. Have a good one!
