QuickBooks found a problem in my data file and wanted me to rebuild, so it could repair the problem. After the rebuild, the report said it found no problems. Now every time I close the program it comes up with the same error message, that it found a problem in my data file, and wants me to rebuild again and again. What's going on?
I tried canceling once, but the message comes up again, with the report saying no problems were found.
I am using Quickbooks Pro 2019 Desktop stand alone, on Windows 10 / 64.
Any help would be great!
John

Allow me to help and share some insights about fixing data file issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
Have you tried verifying the data? If you're comfortable manually fixing errors, the Verify Results window will show you which ones you can fix. But before you do, make sure to backup your company file.
To verify:
After that, run the Rebuild tool again, this will help fix those errors that don't have an article. If you still have data issues, you can also utilize the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix your company file.
Furthermore, while QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 is still functional, it's important to note that this version is no longer supported or receiving updates. That means there's no guarantee that rebuilding the data and running QuickBooks File Doctor will effectively resolve the problem you're experiencing.
Feel free to let me know if you still have other concerns about QuickBooks Desktop. I'll be here to help. Have a great day!
Does the message always ask you to rebuild your file or contact Support at a specific phone number?
No it doesn't direct me to call anyone. it just keeps finding a problem in the data file and tells me it wants to rebuild while it finds and fixes the problem. When it's finished, the report says it didn't find any problem.
Then I can go ahead and close.
The problem comes up after opening and after working, I go to close again, then it pops up again. Always with the same result. The report after rebuilding says it didn't find anything.
I have completed all those steps numerous times. I get the same result. It keeps thinking there is a problem with the data file.
I understand your last point and was fully aware about getting no support and updates. The problem with that scenario is that Quickbooks does not offer a stand alone version anymore. That leaves me with, holding on to what I have on my 2019 version for old customers. I have installed a different alternative stand alone book keeping software program that seems to fit my needs although I would have loved to stick with Quickbooks. They kind of pulled the rug out from under me and many others.
I am not fond of online versions of most programs I utilize in my business or personal needs.
I am grateful for the actions you have taken, @ivebeenthere.

Hello Fiat
Would the non subscription still be stand alone, or an online version? Not really fond of online versions?
Thanks for your help!
John
Would the non subscription still be stand alone
QB Desktop with a non subscription license, not QB Online.

I believe from the answer Fiat gave me, was that the non online subscription is still available, but it would not be updated to 2024. It seems like 2019 was the last year the non online subscription was available.
I have ignored the rebuild messages to the point now that it hasn't shown up for the past month.
It really only started when I consolidated my data. Maybe it didn't like the consolidation? Not sure, but it seems to be on track with records to date.

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility more than twice to make sure. If the same error persists, your company file is damaged. Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they can help to fix it.
