Hello, lou-valiantrealt.
I'll lend a hand and help you fix the printer connection in QuickBooks.
I'd like to clarify some details about the printer issues. When you say QuickBooks won't connect to your printer, is your printer missing from the list when printing out a form? Or does the system display an error message when printing something out?
More details would definitely help me come up with a solution to fix the issue.
In the meantime, let's do the following steps to fix this.
Make sure your printer is properly connected to your computer. You might also want to adjust your printer settings and ensure it can print documents and other forms on the browser you're using.
If in any case you're printing out a PDF document from QuickBooks, does it display a blank format? We can follow the steps in this article: Print PDFs in landscape using Chrome.
We can also find other solutions here: Fix QuickBooks Online printing issues on browsers for Windows.
If you need to run some reports to check your data in the future, I'll share this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
I'm still looking forward to your reply, but if you need help with certain entries, reports, or taxes, let me know and I'll help you out.
I have QuickBooks online and a POS printer. These are receipt printers that print small papers. When I print receipts from QuickBooks online, they create a pdf first. As you can imagine, this does not print well on the receipt paper. it only prints the leftmost characters.
I would like to use the POS printer like a normal sales receipt printer.
I appreciate you for joining the thread concerning printing sales receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @benzau.
When printing sales forms specifically for sales receipts, QuickBooks Online will route you to download or print the form in PDF form. This functionality is working as designed and can’t be altered in the settings or application preferences.
I also acknowledge the problem you have encountered as direct printing of the PDF file will result in the issue of partial printing. The printing will appear to be perfectly ordered because the POS Printer is often 2 inches or 3 inches in size and the PDF document is typically A4 in size.
In your case, you'll want to adjust the page layout of the file before printing. Although it will cost you time in configuring them, they will fit your sales receipt layout when printed. I’ll show you how:
Moreover, you can customize your sales form to personalize and add specific information.
Let me know if you have more concerns about the sales form. I’ll make sure to get back to assist you. Stay safe!
