Quickbooks POS Payments

We currently use Quickbooks POS 2013 for our POS system. We previously used Square to process credit cards, and we want to be able to just do it through QB POS. We signed up for a QB Payments account, was approved, got our merchant number and all. However, when I sign into the payments tab on QB POS it says it can't connect. Any ideas?

Currently, Intuit is only supporting Payments for QuickBooks POS v18.0, and 19.0.

Currently, I am migrating all of my v12.0 and older customers to v19.0 for 60% off the software, and you get a Free PIN Pad.

It's great to know your QuickBooks Payments account was approved. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to process customer payments, CoralBay.

Once we activate Merchant Services for QuickBooks Point of Sale, let's make sure we link your Merchant account to your software. This allows you to accept credit and debit card transactions. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale account.
  2. From the File menu, tick Setup Interview, then go to the Payments tab.
  3. Choose Yes to accept credit and debit cards.
  4. Select Sign In and enter the Merchant Service credentials (email/password) for the Point of Sale Merchant account.
  5. Choose the correct account associated with your sign-in credentials. A confirmation window appears indicating you have linked QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale with Merchant Services.
  6. Press Done.

Then, connect your QuickBooks Point of Sale to QuickBooks Payments by following the steps and details in Process and take payments in the QuickBooks Point of Sale article. Then, go to Step 1 section.

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest reaching out to our QucikBooks Payments Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and help you with this one. Feel free to visit our Merchant Services page for more insights about managing your credit card and eChecks processing.

I'll be right here to continue helping if you have any other concerns or questions about QuickBooks. Assistance is just a post away. Have a great day.

Find a Solution Provider near our area with strong background in QuickBooks POS. Look for BlackRock Business https://www.facebook.com/BlackRockBiz

Also Boss Keeper  another choice in New jersey / New York area  offers training and installation support.

You can buy direct from Intuit website, but will never get any meaningful support unless you pay over $450 in support fee and will never cover all the new awesome features on E-Commerce .

Hey there, @CoralBay

Thanks for providing your exact error message. I'm happy to provide some insight into the error and what steps we need to take to fix it.

This is a connection issue and may be due to your service provider (Verizon, etc.). The service provider's Domain Naming System (DNS) may be experiencing technical difficulty. This connection issue usually corrects itself over time, typically within the same day or over a period of days.

The connection issue is sporadic for some users depending on the region you're located in. You can add Google's DNS server address (8.8.8.8) into the computer's IPv4's properties as a workaround. However, I recommend having your IT professional perform the steps to do this. I've included a link below that contains the steps to add Google's DNS server address.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I'll be here every step of the way. You can reach out to us here in the Community at any time. Take care and have a wonderful day!
