Quickbooks Pro 2019 Desktop

Our small business has the option to acquire QB Pro 2019 desktop version, which can support of to 3 users. (Unused by previous owner) We have NOT installed anything yet. I saw the instructions on HOW to add a user, once it is installed, but I am trying to find out the COST of adding another user license BEFORE we go through the whole installation.  And will we encounter any issues trying to activate a second user because the version is older?

I've got the steps you'll need how to find the cost of current pricing when adding a new user license, wiffer18.

You can locate the current pricing information for adding users to your license by following the steps below:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Choose Manage My License and then choose Buy Additional User License.
  4. Click the Add Seats Online link for current pricing.

You can read the QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions to know how to add, edit, and troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop user login and restrictions.

Also, here are some resources to help you manage your QuickBooks license:

I'll be here to keep helping if you need more help managing your account.

@wiffer18

You have a QB Desktop 2019 Pro license for 3 users, correct? Do you need more than 3 users to access the same file?

Thank you for that info but we don't have the program installed YET. I want to verify that if we DO install it, that we CAN still add a user(s).   I have been given conflicting answers of yes AND no.  We would prefer to use this Quickbooks Pro 2019 Desktop version. But we MUST be able to install it and add at least ONE MORE user. And just to confirm, the program does allow up to 3 users.  The question is whether we will be able to add on a user license or will we get some sort of error message that the program is too old and QB/Intuit will not allow the additional user to be purchased?

You can only use the license as is for the following 2 reasons:

1. A QB Desktop Pro license for 3 users can only be installed on 3 computers (exclude a dedicated server as storage, if any).

2. You can't use QB Desktop Pro edition if you need more than 3 users to access the same file at the same time.

Another option, we can help to obtain the one time license of QB Desktop Premier 2021 for 5 users.

Hi there, wiffer18.

I'd agree with what @Fiat Lux - ASIA had replied. However, this is applicable to the updated versions of QuickBooks Desktop.

In your case, you can't add a user license because it is an older version. There is a service discontinuation of the product of QuickBooks Desktop every May 31st each year depending on what product version you are using.

You can click this link to learn more about the  QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

If you're interested to update your product, you can click this link: Choose the QuickBooks Desktop or Online product for your needs.
