Join nowYes I think I did something very stupid. I was searching for QuickBooks trial versions and this site came up https://qbsenterprisesupport.com/quickbooks-desktop-trial-links/. I downloaded it and installed it everything is working fine, I thought it was quickbooks.com but I realized now it's not. I feel really stupid but is there anyway to find out if QuickBooks owns this site if not anyway to find out if I downloaded a virus? I just don't know why they would be letting people download a 30 day trial of software if they were not Quickbooks, it seems very odd.
Thanks,
Tony
Hello there, @tpalermo30.
Thank you for posting here in the Community. I understand how important making sure to download QuickBooks from the right source to avoid any issues.
The link above is not the official website of QuickBooks to download the trial versions. It's a third-party site being handled by technical supports, which provides paid assistance and accounting services for various accounting software.
To ensure your data is safe and determine any suspicious behavior on your computer, I recommend scanning your files using an anti-virus application. Also, it would be best to undo the installation and use the official installer from our website.
You can visit this page to re-download QuickBooks: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, I recommend visiting the following article to learn more about the precautions we recommend when using the program: Precautions to take to protect your accounts and data.
Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about QuickBooks. Take care.
I visited the website and it seems they only offer the paid technical supports. You can only purchase a license of QB Desktop Enterprise US version with a perpetual discount for up to 20% off thru an authorized partner. Let us know should you need to recommend one.
I did notice that when you hover your mouse over the download links it looks like it's pointing to an intuit website. I did scan my computer came up clean, I also scanned the installation file and it came up as clean. I'm not sure if I should format my hard drive and start all over but all my documents i'd have to back up. I really messed up with this one download.
Here is the link to the trial version,
It looks like this is a real download from Intuit can you please confirm this?
Here is the legit link
https://http-download.intuit.com/http.intuit/Downloads/2021/Latest/Setup_QuickBooksEnterprise21.exe
You will get the latest Release version with the link I shared. The link you mentioned is still using Release 1.
Thanks for coming back. It's my priority to verify and download the legit link for the QuickBooks trial version, tpalermo30.
