It's my priority to help you fix this bank transaction issue so you can have a smooth reconciliation, @blueberry123.

When a transaction isn't showing up in the Undeposited Funds account, it could be that the transaction has been added as a bank deposit already, or you haven't entered the entry manually in the system.

To fix this, you'll need to add the transaction that showing up in the For Review tab so the amount will show up in the Undeposited Funds account. If the entry was added as a deposit already, then you can match it directly.

Here's how to add the transaction:

  1. Find a downloaded transaction with the Add option in the Action column.
  2. Select the transaction to expand the view.
  3. Review the recommended Category. This is the account QuickBooks wants to categorize the transaction into. F
  4. Change the vendor or customer as needed.
  5. When everything looks good, select Add

If it has been added as a deposit, you can proceed with matching it. Please refer to this link for complete details about this process together with reconciling your transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted on how these steps work for you. I'm always here to help if you need anything else. Have a good one!

Thank you for your response! I forgot to add that when I checked them, they are in in Uncategorized Income in the For Review Tab. What would be the best thing to do? Thank you!

As my colleague @BettyJaneB stated above, you'll need to either add or match the transactions in question. This way, you can proceed with your reconciliation. In case you missed it, refer to this article she provided: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you continue to bump into any other issues with bank reconciliation, see this article: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online. It's a detailed guide on how you can resolve issues with reconciliation, so you can finish the process.

I  followed these steps and they automatically added in my deposits when I go back to my reconciliation. Is that really how it works?

Also, my payments are already balanced last time. I made sure of that. When I get back to it now, there's a transaction added in the amount of $1.00 of which I did not know where it came from. What are the possibilities for this?

Thank you!

Thank you for getting back, @blueberry123.

Yes, once you've added the downloading transactions into QuickBooks, they'll automatically be added to your QuickBooks balance and will show up on your register. With the $1.00 transaction, you can review the details of this transaction. If this is one of the entries you've added from the For Review tab, you can either look for a match to avoid any duplicate record or exclude it from there.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking page, then look for your account.
  2. Locate the transaction from the Categorized column to redo the adding process.
  3. Check the box, then tap Undo.
  4. Switch to the For Review section, then select the transaction.
  5. Click on Find match, then look for the possible match of the transaction.
  6. If you want to exclude this transaction from your record, check the box, then select Exclude.

For more tips about adding, matching, and excluding transactions from the Banking page, I recommend checking out this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, here's an article you can read more about reconciling an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how else I can help you with your banking transactions by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!

I didn't add the $1.00 transaction. I was just surprise that it was there.

Hi there, blueberry123.

You ca run the Audit Log report to check what happened and when the dollar amount was added to the transaction. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Audit log
  2. Go to Filter, then select Show only these events and Transactions
  3. Click Apply
  4. Look for the transaction and click View under the History column to check what happened to it.

Let me share this article to get more details about using this feature: Use The Audit Log In QuickBooks Online.
