Join nowHi there,
I'm a owner of a Bar and I serve liquor and beer.
My question is how do a record my daily income sales in QBO. As I sale beer as an item but with other liquors (for example whisky) a sell shots or mix drink I not always sell a whole bottle.
And how does this will effect my inventory? Again on selling liqour shots, beer is no issue.
Thank you for your help.
Hi there, jutje.
I can share some tips on how you can manage your inventory efficiently.
For the beers, you can add them as an inventory item and then create a sales receipt every time you generate a sale. However, for the liquor shots, you'll need an Assembly features to track its inventory. This allows you to combine inventory parts to build and track finished goods. When you build, your stock of components will be automatically updated.
Please know that this feature is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online since the program is only intended for simple inventory management needs. That being said, you'll want to consider visiting our QuickBooks App Center to find a third-party application that supports Assembly features. You can also follow these steps in searching the app inside QuickBooks Online:
I also encourage reading this article to help track the items that you buy/sell and the status of your inventory.
Keep me posted if you have any other concerns or further questions about inventory. I'll always have your back.
@KlentB thanks for your reply.
But if I decide not to take this route of paying for an additional app. Is there an order option or way to create sales for liquor shots?
Do you know of any other use case on how other Bar's and Restaurants do this?
Mind Bundle be an option?
Thanks for getting back to us about your bar sales, @jutje,
You can use non-inventory items to account for liquor shots sale in QuickBooks. This is the closest workaround, since online versions of our software doesn't have inventory assemblies.
