Restarting my QB

Recently I decided that this year will be the year I am on top of my finances. I have a QB account and it has been used haphazardly throughout last year. Is there a way I can scrap the whole thing and start from scratch? I want my bank accounts to be from 2022 and forward. I really don't want to deal with the old charges or changes I've made. Thanks!

Restarting my QB

It’s great to see you in the Community, TrevorPMM.

I know the importance of having accurate financial records. This prevents having any issues in processing forms, paying taxes, and other accounting-related tasks. Let me guide you in the right direction on how to resolve your concern.

In QuickBooks Online, we can only delete the transactions one at a time. If your books are less than 60 days old or newer, you can purge the company to start fresh.

However, if the account is 60 days older, you’ll have to sign up for a new QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription. Then create a new company and enter your 2022 transactions from there.

For more in-depth information on this process, check the following article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online. It includes instructions on how to wipe your data, cancel the subscription, and a video for visual reference.

If you wish to subscribe to a new QBO account, visit this site to get a better comparison of each online version along with its features: Intuit QuickBooks.

These resources will guide you on how to handle your company’s transactions after canceling your current subscription.  Also, you’ll learn about the setup process and steps to keep your books running smoothly.

Keep me posted if you have additional questions or concerns about starting over in QBO. I’m always ready to assist further. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

@TrevorPMM

I would recommend opening a new blank QBO account and cancel the old one.

Then utilize the trial version of a backup restore app during your setup.
