I have QB enterprise 2024....just upgraded.... in QB enterprise 2022 the spacing between address and memo area on QB checks worked perfectly....now the memo area prints on the check stub (too low) but all other areas on the check print fine.....the alignment under printer setup is not the solution since it adjusts everything....I need to change the spacing between the address and check memo area......How do I adjust just the check memo area????
I understand how important it is to tailor the content and spacing of your checks according to your specific preferences and needs, Labrider. I’ll give details on the availability of modifying the check memo area in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
At this time, the only option for adjusting check details is modifying the entire printing alignment. The ability to reconfigure the memo area alone is currently unavailable. With this, I suggest sending your suggestion about this functionality to our product engineers. Your input is instrumental in helping us enhance our product features. Here's how:
Your input is valuable to us, Labrider. It fuels us to continually improve your experience. If you have any other questions or need further assistance handling checks or configuring print settings in QBDT, please let me know by replying to this thread.
I am so disappointed in your response...if you are an employee of Intuit you should be putting in a fix request to the engineering team not me....what amazes me is I have now spent over 7 hours with tech support who went on my system and upgraded QB only to find that the newest version of QB is laced with major bugs and the original problem I called tech support only got fixed by a third party internet posting...Does Intuit have a Bill Back department that I can Invoice all my time lost spending time testing the latest version of QB?....As a retired director of software development.....the engineer who modified the alignment of the checks when it was not broken would be fired! or working around the clock to create a software patch.
@CamelleT RE: I understand how important it is to tailor the content of your checks according to your specific preferences and needs, Labrider.
That's so nice that you understand that. However, the OP didn't ask for that. Which you'd know if you actually read the question and understood it.
The OP just wants QuickBooks 2024 to print checks like 2022 did, which I expect is what it is supposed to do - because nothing about QuickBooks standard checks has changed in the last two years. Which you should also know.
Sorry...but disappointed in your response.....the OP explained everything very clearly given the fact that I did read it...because I wrote it. The op didn't ask how to tailor a check it asked how to adjust the printing of the memo area of a check when it is printing too low, but everything else prints fine, the check fields are already preset in QB...second, I did not say the checks have changed just the spacing in the check printing template....Remember when prior to QBsupport installing QB Enterprise 2024 over QB enterprise 2022 the checks printed perfectly....so the error is in QB Enterprise 2024, Even QB online support acknowledges that the check printing is broken in QBE 2024.....I realize given your response that Intuit and related consulting companies do not know how to fix the problem...why don't they just do the ethical thing and admit they don't have a solution...just like QB support not knowing that windows turned off Internet Explorer thus rending QB payroll in operatable...why did this happen...because some software engineer working on QB hard coded Internet explorer to be used in the back ground....You never hard code a third party's software in your code when you have no control of that third party software.....
Thank you for clarifying further your concern, Labrider. I recognize that you only have to adjust the printing of the memo area on a check, just as mentioned above.
Please know that adjusting the position of the memo area on the check isn't supported in QuickBooks Desktop 2024.

@Labrider RE: Sorry...but disappointed in your response
Are you replying to me? If so, note that I was responding to the first (lame) answer from an Intuit employee, not to your post...
