Split view with Quickbooks and another program

When I try to reconcile my account I want to do a split view.  I want half of my computer window to be QB and the other half with my bank statement.  Whenever I try to do that I get the message cannot do split view in this program.  I can do split views in all my other programs.  Any suggestions?

Split view with Quickbooks and another program

Thanks for reaching out to us here, @Coachkim.

I have some information about splitting windows in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac (QBDT for Mac). Currently, the option to split a window is unavailable. You can only open multiple windows.

To do so, here's how:

  1. Go to Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Choose the Desktop View menu. Then, tap the My Preferences tab.
  4. Tick the radio-button next to Multiple Windows.
  5. Click OK.

You can also use the Multi-Monitor mode. This feature allows you to open multiple screen to better manage your financial information. Just go to View and then select Switch to Multi-monitor Mode.

For details, please check out this guide: Use QuickBooks on multiple screens or in multi-monitor mode.

In case you need help managing your data file, feel free to browse our help page for topics. Just choose a title that fits your concern: View all help for QBDT for Mac.

Reach out to me again through this thread if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks view. I'm more than happy to answer them for you. Take care and have wonderful weekend.

Split view with Quickbooks and another program

I have QB 2021 for Mac Desktop.  I click on Edit and preferences is not an option.  Then, I clicked on file.  I could find preferences but nothing related to Desktop.  Since, I couldn't use the Desktop view I could not use Multi-Monitor mode.

I appreciate your help and to know that the option to split a window is not available.
