Is there any way to track time (start-time/end-time) for activities or timesheets in Quickbooks Desktop 2020 for Mac? I see instructions for QB Desktop (link below), but they don't seem to apply to Mac — as there is no preference pane for "Time and Expenses". Thanks.

Hello there, oadslug.
In QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, tracking your employee's actual start and end time is currently unavailable. However, you can input its duration by entering a single activity.
You can follow the steps provided above by my colleague Kendra H so you'll be able to record it in your account.

Hello,
The Time Tracking preferences in QuickBooks Desktop Mac can be found at QuickBooks menu > Preferences > Time Tracking section. MyTime is the app used to track and import time to QuickBooks Desktop Mac. You can install it by selecting Employees menu > Time Tracking > Download MyTime.
Here is a useful video that covers more details on the Time Tracking window: https://youtu.be/7olAhuKtJG4
Good afternoon, @oadslug.
I'm here to help you get back to business.
If you track time, you can set the first day of your workweek and choose which time entry from QuickBooks Desktop for Mac displays when you click the Time-sheet button on the toolbar.
To set up time tracking:
5. Enter the name of the service item that matches this type of work, then go to Tab.
6. For each day of the week that work was performed, enter the number of hours worked in the appropriate Date column.
Once you've completed the steps above, below I'm providing steps with which way you should enter time.
Entering single activities:
Entering weekly time-sheets:
Please let me know if the steps above do the trick. Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Happy Friday!
Thanks for help Kendra. However, this only allows me to enter the total duration for the activity — not the start-time and end-time (i.e. Consulting, 10:00am - 2:00pm, 4 hrs). Is there a way to keep track of actual start/stop time in the base application? Thanks.

That's unfortunate. Please add my vote to for the ability to record start/end-time to activities (in addition to duration) if needed. Some clients/employers need to track actual time. Thanks.
I have used GetMyTime for years with no problem - however, I also have been running my QB Pro 2020 for windows on my Mac using Parallels software. As of late QB has started to hang, Parallels freezes and I end up wasting hours getting it to function. MacOS Catalina and Parallels combined with QB just doesn't work.
So, I purchased QB Desktop for Mac as everything I read says it will work with GetMyTime... well when I went to export the Timer List .iff file the option is not available.
Also, when I imported the GMT .iff file (selected fix later, file imported successfully) the information did not show up in my Employee Time Sheet. I need to find a solution which doesn't cost a lot as I only need to track time for two people... so, how do I export a Timer List from QB Desktop for Mac and then import the same file with updated information?
Hello, @lccomo.
Importing or exporting the transaction list will not update to any existing transactions (Employee Time) you have. You may also check with the QuickBooks App Store to find app that works perfectly in tracking employee time.

I downloaded the Intuit My Time app (after reading the Mac manual) and it will work fine for my design business (semi-retired and the only employee now). Is there an app that will work with mobile platforms such as Android and iOS?
I am starting another business which may have a few employees - they won't be carrying a computer with them so My Time isn't available unless there is a mobile version.
OR, is there another app which will work with your My Time?
Hello there, @lccomo.
We don't have a specific category for the My Time app in the App Center. I can see that some of the apps that are offering procurement services are listed under the Time Tracking category.
In the meantime, I recommend checking out our Apps Marketplace for all publicly available time tracking apps that integrate with QBO.
Please stay in touch. We're just around if you need more help.
I'm new to QB desktop for mac 2020 and have downloaded the My Time app so I can track my employee's time and invoice customers. I'm getting an error message (see attachment) and am unable to open the app.
Please help.
Also, does My Time allow to enter start/finish and break times? I'm moving from the online version and it's extremely useful and time saving to have this function so I don't have to manually add and subtract (my guys handwritten timesheets can get a little complicated), because we all know there is more room for error when things are done this way.
Hi 805hardware.
Thanks for dropping by the Community, based off of the screenshot you sent, it sounds like you need to update the QuickBooks software. to do that follow these steps:
