Join nowI copied my company file on a flash drive and tried to open it in my new QB for Mac version on my MacBook Pro. It doesn't recognize it. I've read some of the instructions but the old version doesn't even have the selection to save it as a file for the Mac. Any suggestions?
Hi Debbie BH,
The new version QuickBooks Mac didn't recognize your file because it's too old to be converted to it. We'll need help from Support to convert your file to a newer version of QuickBooks for Windows before you can covert it to the Mac version.
To reach them:
After the conversion, you can open the file in your QuickBooks for Mac.
Feel free to reach out if you have other questions about the process.
I am agreed to JessT. You file is too old to convert directly to recent version. Call and ask Intuit Data Service to convert your file for free. Otherwise, consider purchasing a 3rd party conversion service.
I followed your instructions... but once I got to the chat with the intuit rep, she stated that since I have the Mac version, I need to call them to get the file converted. The number is [removed]. They asked me a lot of questions, then emailed me a link so that I could sign-in and upload them my Windows QB 2003 file. Someone is supposed to be contacting me in the next few days once the conversion is completed. Thanks everyone for all the help. Very much appreciated!
