Updating 2020 Desktop

I tried updating my Desktop Pro 2020 today and Nick from the QuickBook Sales Team advised me that the QB 2023 Desktop would be a good fit for our small company. I tried to update our QB from QB Pro 2020 Desktop to QB 2023 and he told me that it would be $545 per year for 5 years plus monthly payroll add on. I agreed to the one year subscription but he stated that QuickBooks is only able to do the Desktop 2023 in 5 year bundles. The cost was $2725.00 and monthly payroll cost. I shared that my husband and I are in are 60's and hope to retire in the next two years. He stated that there was no other option. A five year QB Desktop bundle or on-line Quickbooks.

I reached out to QuickBooks and FateCandylaneT from the QuickBooks teams respond that I needed to contact the Sale Team (which I had twice-Nick stated 5 year minimum and the chat representative stated that on-line was the only option as all desktop will be obsolete in 3 years.) and upgrade to the QB2023 with a one year subscription.

I am asking for help. Please I just want to continue my QB desktop program for one year at a time. Asking for any suggestions.

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2020 will be discontinued after May 31, 2023. With that, you won't be able to subscribe to live technical support and other Intuit services. To learn more about it, check out this article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

If you want to receive any security updates, upgrading to QBDT 2023 is a great idea. That way, you'll be able to continue and enjoy the latest features and functions. Please browse this article for the detailed steps: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop.

About the 5-year bundle, please know that QuickBooks Desktop only offers annual plans. You can visit our QuickBooks Desktop plans and pricing website for more details.

Why would Nick on your sale team say that I had to do a 5 year minimum?
I continually asked for a one or two year and he said he'd have to talk to a supervisor. He came back and said no his supervisor said only a four year would be the least I could do.

Makes me very uncomfortable, working with a company's sales team

I have chosen to use another product after 26 years of working with QB

Which program did you change to? I had the same experience. It was super sketchy that we had to call and talk to the sales team (so they could totally rip us off) to upgrade to the 2023 desktop. It has never been like this before. It was easy purchasing 2020. Also, the price is 100.00 to 200.00 more than it was a couple of months ago. I am really disappointed In QB. We are in our sixties and have one employee. Thanks if anyone has an idea on where to go.

You need to call Sales team directly to purchase QBD 2023 Pro. Otherwise, you can purchase it via a reseller/partner.
