Uploading invoice transactions to a recurring template

I'm looking for a way to load customer invoice transactions from Excel to a QBO recurring invoice.  This process needs to occur once per month when we complete our project work.  We already have monthly recurring customer invoices set up in QBO.

Is there a way to upload customer transactions to the recurring invoice?

Uploading invoice transactions to a recurring template

Good day to you, @PaulMN.

As of now, the option to upload customer transactions to a recurring invoice template is not available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You’ll want to edit or create a new recurring template. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Recurring transactions.
  3. Click New to create a new template or select Edit under the ACTION Column to edit the template.
  4. Add additional details to the recurring invoice.
  5. Then click the Save template bottom when done.

You can also refer to this article for more details about recurring template: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can utilize these articles for future reference in case you need to import invoices and form style in your account:

In case you have other questions about managing your recurring invoices, you can always leave a reply to this thread. I’ll be around ready to help. Have a great day ahead!

Uploading invoice transactions to a recurring template

Thank you JasroV.  I have recurring invoices already created.  I'll use the current import functionality to create new invoices until the functionality exists to load transactions lines to a recurring invoice.

Welcome to the Community, @ACEE.

It's easy to upload invoice templates in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Below are the steps you can follow once you've finished designing your custom form:

  1. Ensure that all fields match the EZ Map fields defined in the EZ Map catalog.
  2. Once done, in your QBO account, select the Gear or Settings icon.
  3. Next, choose Custom Form Styles.
  4. Select the New style dropdown menu, then click Import style.
  5. Choose a form type.
  6. Then, click Upload your .DOCX file field and find and select your .docx template.
  7. Select Next.

When done, verify that your template matched with QBO fields. To guide you with the process, please proceed to Step 3 of this article: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.

Also, in case you want to make other sales forms more personalized to reflect your business identity, you can customize the templates you use.
