Hi Joesem M,
Thank you for the information. I need to remove all pricing including the total in the footer. I am trying to create a Work Order that I can print without pricing to use in my shop.
I get the feeling I will not be able to do this.
Thanks again!
HI there, @druckerman.
Removing the total footer of the purchase order isn’t possible in QuickBooks Online. In QuickBooks Desktop Premier and Enterprise have a feature called Sales Order. This can be modified into a work order form. The sales order feature does exactly like the work order, which they link orders to specific customers and invoices.
In QuickBooks Online, you can use the concept of Estimate. This feature also links to customers and can also be converted into an invoice. For additional information on how to create Estimate please check this article: Set up and use estimates.

Hi MaryAnn_E,
Thank you for the information. I initally subscribed to Essentials online and that didn't have the features I needed so I switched to Premier Desktop 2020 and spent a few days imputting client info since we weren't able to import. I also spent a few hours customizing forms including the sales order. Then I called in to set up the new merchant account and the agent was surprised that I had switched to desktop. I explained why I had and she assured me that Online Plus was able to create Sales Orders. I am finding out now that is not possible. I am very disappointed that I was misled and the ordeal has cost me a week that could have been spent serving my clients.
So is there no way in QBO to create and estimate that clients see pricing and then once they accept the estimate create a purchase order (or work order or sales order) for our employees without pricing? Once the job is done, the employees would turn in the completed purchase/sales/work order and we would bill the client.
Seems so basic - is the only option to abandon Quickbooks Online and go back to Desktop? I feel like Intuit is pushing us to go on-line but then these issues arise.
Any other solution to this??
Currently, QuickBooks Online does not have a built-in option to print Purchase Orders (PO), Work Orders, or Sales Orders without pricing. This feature is indeed essential for some businesses, and I appreciate your need for this functionality, WabiSabiPros.
You can consider downloading the purchase order and editing it on your end as a workaround. This way, you can shade the amounts into a white color so that it will cover all the prices you don't want to show to your vendors.
Here's how:
If this workaround isn't suitable for your needs, consider using a third-party app from our QuickBooks app store to remove prices from your purchase order.
Furthermore, I'd also suggest sending Feedback to our product developers to inform them about your request to print a purchase order without the prices included. This way, our product engineers can consider adding this to future updates.
Here's how:
Once you complete it, our designated team will review it. You can track your future requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
Additionally, refer to this article to have a step-by-step guide on how to add an accepted purchase order to transactions of your vendors: Add purchase orders to expenses, bills, or checks in QBO.
