Using Reminders in Recuriring Transaction List

I have monthly journal entry templates set up in recurring transaction. The dollar values have to be modified each time I use it so I have the type set to reminder and recurring monthly. When I select use from the action list the entry pops up and I make my adjustments and enter the transaction. However the Last Use and Next dates don't advance to show the template was used this month and due again next month like it did in the desktop version of QB. How do I get the dates to advance?

Using Reminders in Recuriring Transaction List

Hi there, mdm53.

You may be experiencing a browser-related issue. There are instances that an issue like this can be fixed by running some troubleshooting steps.

To start with, let's open QuickBooks in a private window. It is the best place to identify any browser-related issues. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

If it works, we can go back to a different browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.

We can also switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

I've also added this article for more information about recurring transactions: Create Recurring Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to get back to me if there's anything that I can help with. Keep safe!

Using Reminders in Recuriring Transaction List

I have been using the QB App on a windows 10 machine. I also tried it in both Firefox and Chrome in private/incognito windows after clearing the cache in both browsers. Still does not advance the due date after "using" the reminder.

Thanks for keeping us updated with the results, mdm53.

Since you're using QuickBooks App, let me share this additional troubleshooting option to fix this with dates to advance in your Recurring Template List.

Let's reset the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state. This will help us keep the application compatible with your OS version.

Here's how to do that:

  1. Click Help on the navigation bar at the top.
  2. Select on Reset App Data.
  3. Allow a moment for the process to complete, and then close the app.
  4. Be sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening.

If the problem continues after performing these steps above, you may uninstall and reinstall the application to reload the data. You may also check out this link attached for more troubleshooting actions to be taken when you've encountered issues while using the app: QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac: General support.

Feel free to drop me a reply below if there's anything I can help you with. Wishing you all the best!
