Join nowA brief description of the issue that I am facing
We have Visco integration and due to the security of Quickbooks Desktop - e.g. everytime a
re-authenticate pop happens, etc.
The Visco integration stops working.
At the moment the fix is to log into the server, close the pop up window
Then reset Visco
The integration will start working again until the above happens again
This is what I have found regarding this issue
Can anyone advise on how we can stop this happening ? or is there a work-around?
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, RNOAU. I appreciate you for finding a temporary fix for the Visco integration. I'll be sharing details on how 3rd party works in QuickBooks Desktop. Let me also route you to the right team to assist you further.
The downloaded data and some authenticated messages for integration is dependent on the information shared by Visco. I recommend contacting their support team regarding this. They can also help you remove the re-authentication pop up which keeps on showing.
Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps on how to prevent applications from accessing your QuickBooks Desktop company file: Block applications from accessing QuickBooks company file.
I'm just a post away if you have anything else that you want to know about QuickBooks integration. I'd be glad to explain it to you further. Stay safe and have a great business, RNOAU.
I believe my issue is around the extra layer of security e.g. The re authentication of the intuit account.
This is what stops the Visco integration.
Is there any way to stop this from happening or control it?
Thanks for checking in with us, RNOAU.
Yes, that's part of the security when you allow third-party applications to have access to your QuickBooks company file. To stop it from happening, let's make sure we uncheck the Don't allow any applications access to this company file option in the company preferences. Here's how:
You can check out this article for more details about what you should know and do before letting a third-party application have access to your QuickBooks company file: Allowing third-party access to your company file.
Also, turn off product and service pop-ups that are showing on your QuickBooks, just follow the steps below:

Keep me posted if you have other questions about the popup messages. I'll be here to help however I can.
Visco do access the company file via an QB account and write to the company file
If I put the below in place wont it stop Visco from working properly?
Thank you for getting on this thread, @RNOAU. I will provide information on how QuickBooks Desktop handles 3rd-party integration and direct you to the appropriate team for further assistance.
No, unchecking this option will prevent QuickBooks from allowing any applications, such as Visco, to access this company file.
To ensure that we take care of it, we recommend reaching out to Visco Support to confirm the specific data it accesses in QuickBooks before you provide access to Visco in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
After everything is in order, you can proceed with the steps provided by RCV above. After ticking the box, there will be no integrated application allowed to your company file. You'll want to read block applications from accessing QuickBooks company files to learn more.
