what does '616 (rebuild)' mean

We did ensure the QB release was up to date and the payroll tax tables were up to date then called Assisted Payroll because we are an Assisted Payroll company.  When we told her about the error she said that this was something that has been happening to customers, Ie I figure it’s a bug in the QB code???.  Anyway, she had (my daughter) on the phone for over 1.5 hours and she had to work with her back office to add the employee name back in the system with a ‘*’ at then end of the employees last name.  And they merged the records of the old and new employee (i.e. 616 Rebuilt and the New Employee Name).  Then there were many more payroll iterations of sending them data and making sure all the payroll info for the employee was correct and input again.  After it seemed to be all set up correctly.  We did a backup.  Then sent payroll.  So, crossing my fingers that it all goes well.  She just thought of one other thing I can check to ensure it worked.  Anyway…thanks again. And I should know more tomorrow. If I find something else I will reply again.

what does '616 (rebuild)' mean

Hello there, GCINC1.

There's a possibility that the transaction or company data is damaged. Hence, it's showing a different entity on your payroll history. Let's correct this by doing a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. Update the QuickBooks release and the Payroll Tax Table versions.
  2. Do the Verify and Rebuild process.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks.

Let us know how this goes so we can further assist you with the results.
