Buy nowI recently migrated from Quickbook Desktop to Quickbook Essentials, which I chose because it had "Enter Time" as a feature in the comparison list. But there isn't anything remotely resembling a weekly timesheet, which was my method on the desktop version. It is completely unworkable to re-enter data for each project I work on.
The rep I spoke to told me the only way to get a time feature is to upgrade to "plus"--but as a solo consultant small business that seems insane.
Anyone have any suggestions of add-on time trackers that work?
Quickbooks: WHY would you remove such an essential feature??? I am actively seeking a new way to keep my books, in case this can't be remedied. As a long-time customer, I'm angry that the 'seamless' integration cut out a key feature.
Hoping that I'm overlooking an easy fix, in which case I will write glowing reviews/replies to this!
Thanks

I'll make it up to you to ensure you never have to deal with this again and make sure time-tracking trackers work on your end, EEO1.
We appreciate you for choosing QuickBooks Online (QBO) to manage your business. The weekly timesheets are non-posting transactions and they will not show on reports like Profit and Loss until the contents of the timesheets have been added to a sale for an expense-type transaction. This feature is available on all QBO versions. Also, timesheets only allow a single hourly rate. If you need to enter multiple hourly rates, you can sign up for a QBO Payroll subscription.
On the other hand, the time tracking feature is available in QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. We'll need to turn on time tracking. Here's how:

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate your time.
I was hoping that as advertised in the features list for Essentials, I'd get weekly timesheets that worked somewhat like the ones on the Desktop--ie, ones where I could adjust rates for different tasks with a user-friendly interface.
In the end, it looks like to get even basic weekly timesheets --I had to pony up more money. Disappointed, as I think the price is very high already (60/month for essentials, + 20/month to get the time sheets that were part of the desktop version).
I'm disappointed in the lack of what seems like an "Essential" feature in the Essentials pricing level. I wish desktop support hadn't been discontinued. It was, for me and many others, a better model.
