We know how this will have a great impact on your purchasing needs. Let me explain why this price increase is happening, Mtanglebooks.
We have to cope with the updated software features to deliver a quality product experience for the customers. With this, that's the reason that an increase in prices is happening.
The price change was effective August 1, 2024. However, customers who signed up for and started their subscription after Feb. 1, 2024, will still retain their current price for six months after the start of their subscription date, after which the price changes.
But If you currently have an active promotional discount, your price will remain the same until the end of the promotion. When the promotion expires, the monthly subscription rate will be adjusted.
On the other hand, QuickBooks Ledger is designed exclusively for accounting professionals and is billed directly to your firm. Clients can't purchase Ledger for themselves and you cannot move a client from another QuickBooks Online subscription to Ledger. If you want to know more about this, I recommend reaching out to our support team so they'll be able to guide you on how to use this and at the same check if you can use another payroll service outside.
While QuickBooks Online (QBO) caters to all small businesses, it will also help you manage and view all parts of your business in one place that easily tracks labor costs, payroll, and expenses with job costing.
Furthermore, I've added this article in case you want to manage your account like update a card, change your subscription, or view your billing history: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.
You can always get back to us if you have further questions about the price increase. We're always right here to help you.
I HATE qb for the reasons you state. Intuit has decided to jump on the monthly subscription band wagon and are actively diving small businesses out of business. It shouldn't cost $4K a year for a small business to send an invoice or run payroll. Unfortunately, the options for small businesses are limited. To emphasize, I HATE qb and what they are doing to me and my clients. hate it.
I am in the same boat.
I use QB for cutting checks and balancing my bank accounts.
I have 10 company files for various LLCs.
10/19/2021 $349.99 Annual Price
10/18/2022 $549.00 Annual Price
10/18/2023 $649.00 Annual Price
10/18/2024 $999.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF
But seriously. What are the options? QB online is cost-prohibitive while managing 10 company files.
It seems the plan is to force everyone off desktop to online eventually??????
It seems the plan is to force everyone off desktop to online eventually?
Yes, you are correct. You have to pay a premium fee to keep using QB Desktop Plus subscription. If you don't need to run any add-ons (e.g. QB Payroll), you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA . They can share an option to consider with QB Desktop.
It's time for you to look into other software. For your needs, it shouldn't even be difficult.
Your price layout is dead on. add in the ever increasing payroll expenses as well. for several years I only needed to upgrade every 3 years and then pay a fee for the convenience of doing Payroll in Quickbooks.
My 3 year average expenses:
2015-2017: $509
2018-2020: $573 (+12.57%)
2021-2023: $683 (+19.19%)
In 2024 Intuit made the horrible decision to fleece every one of their customers:
2024: $1493.67 (+118.59%)
Estimated 2025: $2175.91 (+45.68%)
The 2025 estimate is based on the stated increase in Quickbooks Desktop and the year-over-year trend of percentage price increases in Payroll. the 2 year average of that:
2024-2025: $1834.79) (+168.51%)
tell me again Intuit, how does this help any small business?
You can use QB Desktop with a non subscription license + a 3rd party stand alone payroll app to lower your cost.
You're missing the point.
Which point?
