Buy now & saveMy desktop version just got renewed and I can't get past the product registration because quikbooks doesn't have 24/7 support which is beyond frustrating. I'm trying to run a business and I can't log in because of a trivial registration code.
I understand your situation in trying to log in to your QuickBooks Desktop when you need a registration code, Boyer. To receive the validation code, please log in to your Intuit account in CAMPS, and I can assist you through the process.
If you have registered your QuickBooks software with Intuit, we can retrieve your validation code by logging into your Intuit account.
Here's how:
Also, let's reach out again to our Customer Care Team and provide them with your details. This way, they can provide you with the validation code based on the details being recorded on their end.
Here's how:
On the other hand, you can refer to this article for their support hours and schedules to contact them at your convenience. This article also includes their contact number at the bottom of the page: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.
In addition, if you encounter error messages while subscribing or syncing data in QuickBooks Desktop, there is an article available that outlines the necessary steps to resolve the issue: Fix activation, license, and product numbers issues.
Kindly notify me in the comments if you need further assistance in accessing your files and managing your QBDT account. I'll respond promptly with the necessary information and resources.
This information is not accurate. I don't understand why it keeps getting repeated here - even from posters labeled "quickbooks team"? The validation code is NOT available in CAMPS. Multiple people have confirmed this.
I was also told today (3-27-25 via support chat) that no department at Intuit can or will provide a validation code for ANY non-subscription Quickbooks Desktop product. Yes, even though support acknowledged my license was listed under CAMPS as "active".
I don't understand why it keeps getting mentioned here to "look under the details section of your CAMPS account". The validation code is not there, and Intuit is stating they cannot or will-not provide it.
If I have information incorrect here, please correct me. But this was as told to me today by QB Desktop support.
@Shiva512 I think there's a bit of a mix-up in terminology here.
The license code (number) (and product number) are indeed listed in CAMPS under your product history.
The validation code can be a little different, and depending on how outdated your QB product is, Intuit may well refuse to provide it. I don't know exactly how far back the CAMPS cut-off is.
There is also the Payroll Service Key, but that's a different beastie altogether.
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
QBD Pro 2019
Required to re-install all QBD perpetual license products:
1. License number
2. product numbe
3. validation code OR via validation server online (latter seems to have been turned off)
You should be able to reactivate your QB Desktop 2019 license. If Intuit servers refuse to reactivate your license, that means one thing. Intuit servers have flagged it for some reasons and Support won’t help. You can purchase another license to replace it or use the trial version of QB Desktop 2019 as a workaround.
Are you able to confirm that the validation servers are still operational for pre-2021 desktop products?
I have no reason to believe my license would be "flagged", and that was certainly not mentioned by desktop support. My product has been registered with Intuit since the day I installed it, and shows as "active" under my CAMPS account.
Not sure what other information I can possibly provide. I am simply following the instructions programmed into the software by the developers. "please contact support to finish activating your product." That's what I did - but support refused to provide the validation code needed to continue using my product.
Yes the "validation code" is completely different - and that's the item "quickbooks team" member Dandi was referring to. It is a code to activate the product so it can be used.
If you look through this forum, time and time again people are referred to login to their CAMPS account to retrieve their validation code, or contact desktop support to obtain it. Neither options appear to be correct. It would save so much frustration and time if Intuit would just confirm here that they are no longer providing validation codes to perpetual licensees.
Also, the "downloads and updates" section of a user's CAMPs account is virtually worthless if the user cannot actually activate their product. What use is it to download if the required validation code will not be provided to the registered user?
Are you able to confirm that the validation servers are still operational for pre-2021 desktop products?
I can confirm this fact. We can still support our clients to reinstall their old non subscription licenses and reactivate them.
I have no reason to believe my license would be "flagged", and that was certainly not mentioned by desktop support.
You can try to uninstall your QB program on the old PC before reactivate it on the new one. Another option, use the trial code as the first step and change it your installation code later.
Thank you - the most helpful piton this thread. I will retry the online activation servers with your suggestion. Note I appear to be in a different country, but hopefully I can activate my product
Just an update: I was never able to validate my QBD 2019 on a new computer.
I purchased this software directly from Intuit, but they appear to be refusing a validation code so I can use the licensed software I have. I don't need technical support - just need to install and use my purchased software.
You can use the trial code as mentioned by Fiat Lux to isolate the problem.
