Buy nowI have a quickbooks desktop file that got corrupt. I have a backup from 10 days ago. Can I use that backup file together with the most recent log file to repair/restore the data from the last 10 days?
Thank you
I've got you covered in repairing your damaged company file in QuickBooks Desktop,
Yes, you can restore the file that you backed up 10 days ago as long as it covers all the data you need. However, if you enter some transactions after the backup, we can repair your company file so that there's no need for you to enter them again QuickBooks. But first, let's make sure we update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Then, ensure the file you want to open is a company file (.QBW). You can't open other file types, like backups (QBB) and portable files (QBM) the same way.
Once done, use the Rebuild Data tool to automatically fix minor company file data issues. Here's how:
If QuickBooks doesn't find any problems, press OK. You can keep using your company file if you don't have any data damage. Then, select Rebuild Now if QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file.
If you’re still having data issues after rebuilding your company file, try again. If you still have data issues, use the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix your company file. You can check out this article for more details about fixing data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
