The QB app is causing my iPhone to overheat and drain the battery. Is this a known problem I can fix on my end?

My old iPhone 13 would often get hot and have the battery drained due to mileage tracking. I just got a brand new iPhone 14 and the same thing is happening. Is this an issue with my settings or is it something with the QB app itself?

The QB app is causing my iPhone to overheat and drain the battery. Is this a known problem I can fix on my end?

Several tips can help you save your device's battery life and overheating when using the QuickBooks (QB) app's mileage tracking, jbrisini. I'm here to provide them.

It's essential to note that QuickBooks needs to run in the background. Doing so enables the platform to accurately track mileage for real-time trip logging of your driving activities.

Below are the most common tricks to preserve your battery life when monitoring your mileage in the app. They're possible by utilizing your device's settings.

Option 1: Minimize the app while running in the background to limit its screen time. It helps save battery consumption. Just tap your device's Home icon to achieve this.

Option 2: Enable battery optimization:

  1. Go to your device's Settings.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Turn on Low Power Mode or Battery Optimization.

Option 3: Turn off the device's sounds and push notification:

  1. Go to your device's Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Customize push notices for the QB app.

Option 4: Reduce the brightness or enable your iOS device's dark mode theme. To do so, go to SettingsDisplay & Brightness, then reduce the brightness or turn on dark mode from there.

Additionally, you may access these resources once you encounter problems with your mileage tracking in the QuickBooks app:

If you have more questions about mileage tracking and battery optimizations, don't hesitate to reply to this thread. Have a good one.

The QB app is causing my iPhone to overheat and drain the battery. Is this a known problem I can fix on my end?

I appreciate the suggestions, but nothing has worked. For two months now, my phone drains about 1 percent per mile driven. During that time, my phone also overheats and the battery analysis says the Quickbooks app is the cause of 35-40% of my battery usage during that time. Is there a solution to this? It is very frustrating and I am actively looking for alternatives to the Quickbooks Solopreneur subscription if I can't find a solution.
